Ok, so if Ayre has already been proactive and upped our offer, then our options as to what to moan about if we don't sign him have diminished.

We are down to FSG being tight fisted and not splashing out that few extra million, or Rodgers not being a big enough name to attract players.

Last summer we built the squad. This summer should all be about adding first team quality players. We must have around £50m to spend + Sales (Sterling £40m??)

We have a back up keeper and 2 free signings.

That money should be spent on 2 players. A powerhouse midfielder and a top striker.

On another note I am seeing loads of rumours we are selling Markovic. mental if true. he has potential and is being played out of position all season.

I also saw a rumour we want Nathan Redmond from Norwich. If we let an international go and buy a championship player I am drinking a bottle of turps

Has Rodgers somehow gained control of transfers or managed to convince the board that buying homegrown players is better

Feck knows but this talk of premiership proven has been a disaster for us in recent seasons

Downing, Carroll, Lovren, Keane etc.
