Don't really see anything daft about the article at all. Seems to report on the situation fairly well.

Both teams having access to the same pitch, training facilities, playing budget and since they done that both teams were promoted.

Hardly nothing.

You might disagree with how they are spending the money they generate, but the article isn't daft and bioth teams have accomplished more than absolutely nothing.

So Mbappé is going to run rings around VVD according to some on here. Well here is Big Virj proving them wrong

They are patting themselves on the back for paying male and female players the same citing equality. When in reality they are both amateurs yet the women are far more senior in the game than the men.

That's where this is a farce. "Oh look we pay the men and women the same, despite the women being far more successful, look at all the equality!"

So the article isn't daft, as you claimed. The article is quite factual it seems.

Rather you disagree that a company should be able to decide how to pay its employees with the money they generate? Why shouldn't the owners have the ability to decide how much to pay their employees?

I think freds point is that its not like its a PL club doing it.

Its happened because their mens and womens teams both happen to be at that wagepoint in their league structures.

Its essentially a happy coincidence, should the mens team hit league 1 for instance, if they keep it the same at that point it would be more impressive and more progressive for the womens game

The article is fairly clear in stating that it is NOT a happy coincidence, rather it was a considered business decision.

It's sweet but unrealistic. If they hit league one the wages will reflect that.

At the end of the day people want to watch men's football more, so women's football will never be able to generate enough money to match the money in men's football across the board.

That last Sandy article about the game this weekend...

If you put 'Liverpool' where there is 'Spurs' and put in our squad instead of theirs then its basically a GB article.

posted on 10/9/18

GB would've created a reason for us to play Mignolet or Lovren. Or listed 12 players instead of 11. Or he might said something like Sturridge should start over Firmino.

I might have agreed with the last point...but not in a big game like Spurs away.

Or putting the wing players and a couple of midfielders on the wrong side of the formation grid.

The old African Cup of Nations is still a bit odd. Was looking to see if and where Keita may have played this last week. Couldn't find a line up.

But what I did see was that Guinea are top of their group so far after two games. They won 1-0 yesterday against CAR.

The previous match in the group was an admirtable 3-2 away won (Keita with the winner) against Ivory Coast. But that match happened in June of last year.

15 months between the first group game and the second.

It was a business decision but the only way they were able to make that business decision is due to the low level of the men's team, if they men's team were in League One, they wouldn't have been able to do it. Yet they are patting themselves on the back.

Frankly it's just patronising against woman's football. "You're paid as much as men 5 tiers below you, well done".

But the mens team aren't in league one so its a moot point. The men also aren't 5 tiers below the women as they operate in different structures.

I don't see how it is patronizing to have the women's team allowed access to the same pitch, training ground, coaching facilities, budget etc.

How can that be a bad thing?
