One of Souness worst mistakes was getting rid of Beardsley.

I dont think it was so much getting rid of Beardsley as replacing him with David facking Speedie

To be fair to Souness, Speedie was signed by Kenny. That was the moment I realised King Kenny was losing the plot

Injury updates:

Klopp has confirmed that the best defender in the world is nearing his return from injury. Lallana nearly back, Solanke is back too (didn't know he was injured). Divock probably out though.

Klopp:

"Dejan looks quite good, trained normally four times now. He looks ready. Divock is not far away, it’s an ankle thing,” the German said, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.

“Adam trained with the team, not the full session, but will come back step by step. Solanke is completely back.”

I wasn't even born in the 80's and am too young to remember Barnes, Beardsley etc.

My hero was Owen growing up. Loved the bloke and I actually remember crying when he left for Madrid. Some forget just how good he was on his day. Injuries, poor punditry and his move to United has put a huge downer on his career in my eyes.

I'm in this boat too. I have no love for the national team these days but one of my favourite childhood memories was watching his France 98 goal vs Argentina. Had school the next day so my mum sent me to bed at HT. I was livid.
