Fabinho, Lallana and Milner would be my midfield of choice at the moment with the injuries and form players we have.

But I'm assuming Lallana is fit...

Absolutely brilliant, didn't expect it from him so quickly but VVD has made him into a top centre back.

i said at the start of the season we needed to move him central to get the best from him.

Didnt expect him to cement a place in his first year there though, there has been games where he has out performed VVD.

Such a difference with our current defence to the one 2 years ago.

Harsh maybe but he was guilty of ball watching for that goal and the Hazard goal he got his angles wrong. Having said that he is still better than Lovren and Matip.

What date did we play Spurs last year?

Genuinely feel like October is cursed.

Was it September last year where we barely got a point?

22 October.

Dont tell me we're gonna have a whole month of this chit

As someone on here point out, we always start the season slowly. Last season was a poor start but we kicked on not long after now.

Difference is this year we have the points on the board already.

Honestly we gotta thank Lovren for that wake up call we all had after that Spurs result because who knows what would've changed if he hadn't done that.

Klopp stubbornness can be infuriating sometimes. Still love him though

After 8 games last season we had 3 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat. This time around even if we lose we will have 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.

6 more points this season is a good return.

Hopefully Napoli is the wakeup call that Spurs was last season. My only fear is that might be City...

I actually think we'll try the same tactics against City that we have been playing since the PSG game. Klopp won't try to change it up for a big game like City.

The ironic thing is, it might actually work in our favour more than these past few games cos Pep and his naivety will defo play a high line against us.

We just need to find the Man City bus route and the game will be over before it starts

posted on 4/10/18

That too

There was a tweet asking people to buy those big inflatable bottles and to wave it at the City team bus to make them sheet themselves

Be mire than happy with a point really. It's been an absolutely brutal run thats seen us beat PSG and take four points from two away games from two last years top sux which I think (?) is already better than last season.

Martin Atkinson ref for City game. Was hoping it was Michael Oliver but at least it not Kevin T0sser Friend.

comment by Robbing_Hoody - as a rule I don't trust a man who doesn't drink but I do trust James Milner (U6374)

We drew one game away against the other top 6 teams, lost the rest.

So already a huge improvement.

Quiet on here so here's a question:

Have we gone from having one of the worst keepers in the league, to one of the very best? I'd argue that aside of De Gea, Alisson is the best in the league based on the early season form.

posted on 4/10/18

We have the best goalkeeping coach in the league, that's for sure

posted on 4/10/18

It never got mentioned yesterday but Alisson made one of the best saves by a keeper in a LFC shirt in recent times. That Mertens shot which hit the bar was due to Alisson getting a finger on the shot. Was a certain goal without that touch.

posted on 4/10/18

I think people are over playing that 'save'. I think it's more chance that it hit his hand than execution on his part.

If he does it again, I'll admit that I'm wrong.

Also, i saw it in slow motion, im not sure how much he changed the angle of travel.

He was magnificent yesterday though,

How good was Koulibaly yesterday? He was pure beast mode. Had Salah in his pocket while making left wing runs and taking shots outside the box. Let’s hope he stays and Napoli and no PL club takes him.

Alisson is immense. He has made so many top saves in the last couple of games.

We paid big for Alisson and VVD and they are both bargains now.

We have gone from having the best attack and worse defence to now having the best defence and poor attack

I was really disappointed with Robertson last night, he's also in a bit of a sticky patch
