Not saying stats are everything but his defensive output was always more than his attacking output for RBL.

He had much more of a free role with them than he will ever have with us. I still have faith that he will come good.

Bobby was iffy himself last season as well. Deft passes and layoffs not reaching their targets. Not controlling the ball properly. Not getting enough weight on his passes. He just seemed off with the things he's most known for.

Probably a good move tbh. Needs to get his career going again and dropping down a level might help. Still think there's a lower-level EPL player in him.

It's like Bobby when he first joined. Anyone who actually knows a bit could see there was a great player there.
I actually think that klopp got things slightly wrong with him last year. He played in 4 out of 5 games around Xmas and the new year and was progressing every game. Then he didn't get much of a look in for a while and the momentum he had was gone and looked like he regressed until some late season form. Whether there were some red flags from a fitness perspective I don't know.

I wondered about the fitness tbh. I thought it might come out over the summer that he was carrying an injury or needed an op. But then he went and won the Copa America instead!

Could be mental tiredness more than anything else. He is the system after all.

roberto 'sloppy' firmino as i call him, thats just part of the parcel ive found when he comes on in slippers and takes too long on the ball and cant complete a pass 5 yard pass. Just gta accept the good with the bad. Really písses me off when hes trying round the corner flicks and no look passes despite not having completed a pass in his last 10 attempts

I get that part I know he'll never be consistent for the full 90mins but last season was just so much more obvious. There was more bad than good. His unawareness of things around him was probably the highlight of his season.

Yep think this is exactly right, he was on a good run of games. Not a breakthrough season like Fabinho but enough for us to know he'll come good. Also those goals towards the tail-end of the season must've helped his confidence massively.

Would say, from outside looking-in it did look like Keita and Shaqiri were managed pretty poorly last season.

Keita will have a great season for us if he can stay fit.

It was really frustrating seeing snippets of real quality from him, finally thinking it's really starting to happen for him then he would get injured again.

Hopefully he gets that run in the team this season to cement his first season place as he is class.

He was so good away at Burnley and Palace, not sure I agree he shies away from tackles as both were physical games that he dominated.
