Whilst we love John Henry over here, the Red Sox fans will facking hate him after today's news of them trading Betts...
Manfrom, what's the feeling like over there amongst Sox fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no idea.
Don't watch american sports. Don't follow american sports news. Don't read american sports papers or websites.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thought you'd have some interest in Red Sox fans are financial decisions there could impact us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I find baseball to be excruciatingly dull. Tried getting into it, and in all honesty, the first year I lived here I watched a ton of it and got swept up in the Sox first title winning season in 80 odd years, but that was more about the whole state being alive and buizzing and me being young and single and in the bars every night showing off my beautiful foreign accent
But the issue I have with US sports, and sports outside of football in general, is that I have no emotional attachment to any of the teams or players.
I care as much about the Red Sox as I do about the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
If there wss a guy from belfast playing for the Sox I might actually tune in to watch them, but aside from that, there is nothing about the team or sport that interests me as a viewer or on an emotional level.
Its the same for a lot of sports for me too. I watch premier league matches. Once in a while a glasgow derby. I'll take in some MLS matches. thats my lot.
No time for anything else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough manfrom!
In a perverse way I quite enjoy that baseball is a little dull. I like the methodical nature of the sport and knowing that one bad pitch could lose a game at any moment.
I tend to have it on in the background whilst doing something else, I can't do that with football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, when football is on, you go shopping instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My God, TOOR learnt comedy.

Just seen that Lewandowki scored his 34th and 35th goal of the season yesterday. It's the start February and there's only 18 teams in that league.
Absolutely mental, what a player.
And he's not even the top league scorer in Europe

Pub league where the top team is way out in front. if he came to the PL, he'd score about ten where it's much tighter.
i wonder how many goals the top scoring players now would get 10-15 years ago, not as many id think
attackers are gooderer now than defenders are compared to 15 years ago. maybe its referees, or tactics or better pitches but they all benefit attackers more
There's a serious lack of genuine world class strikers these days.
i think defending has gone down the crapper, not many cbs now (bar vvd) i could see pushing out top defenders from back then
There's less out and out strikers but far more forwards who can play across the front three.
The attackers now would get less goals if they played back then for a variety of reasons but mainly that youre not allowed tokick people anymore.
when did kicking not become allowed, i couldnt put a date on that, seems to have been not allowed since i started watching properly (03/04)
don't know if this has been posted yet
Nike senior Director replying to Liverpool fan: “We're ditching the templates. For the 2020 kits, Nike designers had 65 chassis options available to them across varying necklines, sleeves, cuffs, badge placement, etc. From hand-drawn prints to custom fonts, each team’s look will be its own.”
Good.
Club as famous as ours shouldn’t have to put up with identikits, uniqueness for LFC, and yes you have to see how it looks with the various badges we would have on it.
Morning benders
Looking at some of the Nike kits, they are already pretty diverse.

Saying that, some are pretty rotten. PSG are nice, Inter not so bad, but barca, club america, chelsea are all dreadful.
I like what NB had done, givign us somethign a little retro here and there. I also love the shade of red we are in these days and hope we can maintain that.

depending on how far back you go, most defenders wouldn't get anywhere near the top attackers currently around.
Oh and I like the flames on our collar.
And the badge.
