My opinion of Ole is pretty similar to that of Southgate really.
Both doing decent-ish jobs in their respective positions, but at the same time pretty obvious they both lack a lot tactical awareness. They are both pretty limited in terms of adaptability to different situations. In pressure situations, you'd fancy your chances as an opposition manager.
Neither really play attractive football on the eye although that is less important. Ole probably marginally better but he gets money to change his team every summer so.

I think Ole is a tad underrated tactically.
Very few top managers have got the better of him and repeatedly too.

which pool of players would you prefer to have, utds or englands?

I don't think he chose to defend a 1-0 lead for 88 mins. For the first 30 mins we were the better team and granted after that we did retreat way too much. Seen far better teams than England do that though. Including us.

Again though, you’re using past failures to justify your argument. It’s almost as if Southgate is basing his decisions on what’s happened in the past and as long as he doesn’t do any worse or marginally better then he and his supporters will be happy.

Marginally better? A semi final and final in his two comps is marginally better?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you actually look at the the results and who we played, rather than just the face value, then yes.
WC 2018…..
Tunisia W
Panama W
Belgium L
Columbia D (win on pens)
Sweden W
Croatia L
Belgium L
Euro’s…..
Croatia W
Scotland D
Czech W
Germany W
Ukraine W
Denmark W
Italy D (lose on penalties)
The only team in either tournament that can be classed as an actual football ‘superpower’ is Germany. The World Cup especially we won three games, Tunisia, Panama and Sweden.

That isn't anyone's fault though. In the euros we beat Croatia, Germany a very decent Denmark and drew with an outstanding Italy.
Everyone seemed pretty happy at the time.
———————
I’m putting things into context. Our actual results and performances in that WC were pretty average and just backs up my point that you’re taking us getting to the semi’s at face value. Break it down and when we played teams ranked in the top 20 we lost three and drew one.
With regards the Euro’s, your ‘everyone seemed happy at the time’ comment just isn’t true at all. Obviously everyone was happy we were winning, but he was still getting plenty of criticism for his tactics and decision making. Don’t make out people only criticise him when we don’t win, that’s an utter fallacy.

I absolutely despise international football finally the PL is back
Apparently we're trying to get a dude called Adeyimi from RB Salzburg in Jan, roughly EUR30mn. German striker, only 19, seems a bit like Kingsley Coman to me but playing a bit more centrally

Not sure tbh. Fancy us to win either way though, Leeds look made for us atm.
Crazy about Raducanu. She comes across really well but it's amazing she has reached the final.
Firstly we are playing last so we will get to see what City and United do. I still think we will play them because we've already said the rule is not binding so looks like we have got the lawyers involved and it helps when they provide Everton favours meaning it will get thrown out of court.
I haven't been as involved with Tennis for a few years now but I saw bits of Wimbledon, is Raducanu our lass who retired from one of her games at Wimbledon that was stress-related? I can't remember if it was stress-related, but I think it was her, although she may have just been injured.
Regardless, I'm happy for her to get there and I hope she goes one better and reaches the final. What a great experience for her age as well.
Is it worth risking a points deduction for it though? I'm not convinced it would happen if we did play them, but we can't take the risk.
Still hopeful we might hear something for definite either way today.

I don't think FIFA can impose a points deduction in the Prem can they?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shouldn't think so, Prem exists outside of the normal football structure and UEFA/The FA had to accommodate moving players in and out of their structures.

Not even dropping a set in the whole tournament, including qualifying. An amazing achievement whatever happens in the final.
And she's hot...major bonus.

The PL needs to say what its position is on the issue, whether or not they back it. They've been ridiculously silent about it all.
If that's because even now they are trying to seek a solution then fair enough, but at the same time it is a bit of a joke they've left it this late if that is the case.
