Just to make you all feel better, my Turkey crown is still frozen, despite following defrosting instructions to the letter. Looking like a Boxing Day xmas lunch 🙄

I’m cooking for the in-laws. All together 10 of us.

I’m doing a turkey, a chicken. and a piece of ribeye roast beef. Not really a turkey fan so always do few options.I’ll probably feast on the ribeye

Just as well I make the BEST roast potatoes.

Gotta ruffle those spuuuuuds before they go in the oven.

I boil mine for about ten mins first, nothing worse than getting them perfect on the outside and still hard in the middle! I’ve also ditched the goose fat this year, found that olive oil gets better results 👍

10 Min boil, then let them rest and cool for 10 mins.

As the water evaporates off them it pulls starch to the outside which makes them crispier.

Then an olive oil/butter mix, toss them around to fluff up the outside and roast those bad boys.

Yeah standard. Take them out the water and let sit for a while and then ruffle and straight in to the oil.

I tend to use olive oil, saying that I use olive oil with most food when needed to cook.
