Big issue is even if we spend big by our standards, can guarantee we'll be outspent by all of our rivals, probably even spurs even if they still have no manager. So we've really put ourselves in the sheit and up against it.

So since klopps full season in charge we are 5th in spent, 200m behind 4th Arsenalyet only 70m more than Whammers in 8th 52m more than Everton in 7th and 15m more than penny pinching levys tottenham.

Net we are 10th.

Note not the most accurate of sources, i know for example they put some youth players signed and sold for good money on clubs u23 page which skews it a bit but still gives an idea.

Arsenal I’m slightly surprised at tbh, but the other 3 we knew all about. The Chelsea and City stories have been told a thousand times and Utd were, for a while at least, the richest club in the world. Outperformed 2 of those 3 over the time period though.

Frankly if we’ve learnt nothing else from Chelsea in the last 12 months it’s surely that it’s not what you spend that matters, it’s what you spend it on.

True but spending money you have a chance, that money spent of players who might eventually settle and kick on next season too especially under new managers.

Can see a lot of players signed this season who struggled having much better seasons next year that said there were than many of them its inevitable really

What a weird response. He's a top player and it would allow Trent to move to midfield. You clearly haven't watched him then.

Trent will not move into midfield though. His role is inverted so the quality around him needs to improve alot.

Sounds like Bellingham is going to have knee surgery after playing with it strapped up for half a season. Worrying signs for a 19 year old.

Still gutted he isn't coming but our stinginess may have saved us for once

Trent will not move into midfield though. His role is inverted so the quality around him needs to improve alot.

We also need to work on our ball retention and structure to counter press effectively when he does move infield

I don't know why it's so difficult for people to understand the difference between Trent moving into midfield and starting in midfield

That’s one way of looking at it. Another would be he’s just won the Bundesliga player of the year whilst carrying an injury! Imagine what he’s capable of when injury free.

If we play this system, which we will, Trent will still take the RB spot on the team roster regardless of where he stands when we have the ball.

Signed for the summer, let's see if he earns himself an extension.

Seems a bizarre appointment based on what I’ve read, very much seems Klopp influenced but we’ll see if that works out or not.

If we see no improvement from this season by the new year and we’re out of contention for top four, then I think it may start looking like curtains for Klopp but equally I do think we turn it around .
