If Chelsea get relegated for breaching FFP boy that would be funny.
We've managed to negotiate absolutely nothing in this summer window in terms of purchases. You can't count triggering two release clauses as a proper negotiation.
This is unacceptable. I would expect Henry to take the necessary action to ensure this doesn't happen again. We've tried to be overly clever. Losing out on Caicedo i can accept. The club rolled the dice and came up short However, the Lavia situation is an utter embarrassment.
I imagine a lot of supporters are confused and angry about how events have transpired and in my mind they have every right to be. The club needs to sort out replacements now. No Lavia esque penny pinching and trying to be cute and clever.

Just reading about the changes and I’m even more baffled by Chelsea:
“As part of The Squad Cost Rule spending on wages (players and head coaches), transfers and agent fees will be capped at 70 per cent of a club's revenue. This will be assessed over a calendar year and not a season, so spending in the summer transfer window will be included in the calculations.”
That began from June 2022. I googled Chelsea revenue and it’s circa £480m so theoretically £336m to spend on transfers, agents fees and wages.
They must just feel it’s total bollox. Or I’ve misunderstood.

Absolutely ridiculous logic. He’s apparently got twenty years experience, and reading between the lines it doesn’t look like he’s fully focused on what he’s supposed to be doing. He’s spending most of his time at his villa in Ibiza, which is as much the clubs fault for letting him, but it doesn’t really come across as someone at the top of his game, does it?

I’m genuinely interested to see what will happen. This is the most open challenge to FFP that I can recall. If the authorities don’t respond then it’s surely effectively dead in the water.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing will happen. A new system is coming into effect from next season, which I haven’t heard about til I saw this…..

Basically acknowledging that FFP isn’t fit for purpose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just reading about the changes and I’m even more baffled by Chelsea:
“As part of The Squad Cost Rule spending on wages (players and head coaches), transfers and agent fees will be capped at 70 per cent of a club's revenue. This will be assessed over a calendar year and not a season, so spending in the summer transfer window will be included in the calculations.”
That began from June 2022. I googled Chelsea revenue and it’s circa £480m so theoretically £336m to spend on transfers, agents fees and wages.
They must just feel it’s total bollox. Or I’ve misunderstood.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve got a funny feeling that all slates will be wiped clean when this new system comes in and Chelsea are the only ones that know this It would be so UEFAesque….

If Chelsea get relegated for breaching FFP boy that would be funny.

Theoretically it’s already in, started in June 22. They must know something because at current rate they must spend £336m this week
Either that or they just couldn’t give a feck about it.

Only 3 weeks until Jorg Schmatdke leaves the club, counting down the days already.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1 month contract in Jan. He is a good scapegoat for the the people above.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s literally his job, to secure the deals. Why the feck are you dribbling on about scapegoats?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is he being blamed for not being able to spend a world record fee?
The Lavia low balling debacle when he was available was down to transfer committee deciding he wasn't worth more than 45m.
He can only spend what he has been granted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So using your logic, why does Michael Edwards get so many plaudits? Can’t have it both ways…..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was a permanent figure at the club. How is some 3 month temp supposed to sell the club the players when he's gone in a few weeks?

Absolutely ridiculous logic. He’s apparently got twenty years experience, and reading between the lines it doesn’t look like he’s fully focused on what he’s supposed to be doing. He’s spending most of his time at his villa in Ibiza, which is as much the clubs fault for letting him, but it doesn’t really come across as someone at the top of his game, does it?
