Reina went downhill after he lost interest in playing for the club and didn't get the move to Arsenal he wanted, resulting in his huffing and half-arsed attempts at saves.

I doubt a coach is able to visibly and considerably make a player worse, much less make him not give 100%.

We could blame the coach who wants to coach or we could blame the player who didn't want to play. I know which one I see most likely.

No he didn't. He wanted to move to Arsenal and was visibly moody since we declined it, in games after. It's a ridiculous suggestion that a coach 'breaks' players.

He said in his autobiography that he wanted to join Arsenal, some players can't give their all when they want to leave, Reina unfortunately was one of them. Nothing to do with a coach, a coach can't make a world class keeping into an average one, only the player himself can do that.

Did he heck, Reina had zero interest after the Spanish contingent left. Particularly after Torres had gone. However, I do question if Achterberg is all that good........

It seems I don't have this issue with Safari. I'll use that from now on for the site. Cheers.

Reina's attitude stank for a long time before he left, I was pleased to see the back of him, even if we haven't had the same quality since he left.

There were times in his final season he would practically chuck the ball in the net- and then to top it off, he would consistently blame the defenders in front of them even if it was solely a goalkeeping error.

He wanted out so we let him out.

Seems strange that all the Arsenal fans are fed with Ramsey and don't want him, I would love him here..

To be fair to Reina, it was only him that wanted out, it was a host of players and who could blame them, with what was going on? However you still expect the player to put the effort in whilst still at the club enjoying the wages.

To be fair the best coaches are not usually the ones who were the best players.

I just want us to either get the deal done quickly or publicly pull out. I desperately don't want another drawn out saga.....
