If Nunez could finish like Isak then he'd be the complete package. Still, he had a great game yesterday and was instrumental in our opening goal but he just needs some ice in his veins.

A lot of it is he’s just very unlucky! Don’t get me wrong, he does plenty wrong, but quite often it’s almost as if he hits it too well, with the amount of times he hits the woodwork. Gakpo’s goal was a bit of a scuff, but Nunez would probably have rattled the crossbar at 100mph!
Nunez needs to learn to dink the ball over the keeper or go hard and low. Most of his one of ones he just tries to side foot past keeper but the ball is always a nice height. That's just poor technique.

Thankfully we’ve only got one league game until we play Chelsea on the 31st. Hopefully Szob’s injury is only minor and he’ll be fit by then??
So the Asian games final is the 10th Feb and AFCON the 11th. Good chance Japan get that far, that region is poverty in football standards. Not so sure about Egypt, it’s all a little more uncertain in that region. But that’s potentially 6/7 weeks without them, which is gutting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good it's only 1 league game but it's away to Bournemouth who arguably the most in form team in the league at the moment.
Going to be a tough game, especially without Salah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No way should Egypt get far. They still play Elneny as a advanced 8 or 10 and no real talent has emerged since last AFCON. Last time they parked the bus hoping for Mo magic and pens. Group stage exit hopefully.

Yeah, he does seem to be unlucky but if you compare him to Gakpo I think it's clear Cody has more of a poacher's instinct than him. Something like 80% of Gakpo's goals for us must be tap ins from 6 yards. That doesn't happen by chance.
Still, it's a good problem to have 5 attackers who all offer something different. If Nunez doesn't get you then Jota or Gakpo will!
Come on Klopp, try the diamond with Elliot at the tip and Gakpo and Nunez in front - you know you want to

Jota and Gakpo will find ways to get the ball in the back of the net even when they miss it, they are just predators. Nunez will find any incredible way possible to not get the ball in the net, its truly remarkable.

Yeah, without doubt you want Gakpo or Jota if it’s anywhere near the penalty spot or closer, but on the edge of the area you want Nunez. I know it’s become a cliche, but most of the chances he misses wouldn’t even be a chance for most other players. We’ve just got to hope for even a low percentage improvement, that would yield important goals.

But Newcastle's drop off has been massive. Their players looked knackered at half time last night.
