Yeah Hargreaves’s was class when fit
Carrick is underrated but not exactly world class tbh
Premier league legend though

Has there ever been a truly great English holding midfielder…can’t really think of one recently
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paul Ince was very good for England imo. Shame we signed him as he was beginning to decline.

Fixed that
Gerrard got wasted by Sven a couple of tournaments playing DM allowing Lampard to play as the attacking midfielder. I think after that Capello put him on the left wing.

In hindsight, absolutely. But at the time that team really needed a bit of midfield grit. We had goals in us, just conceded too many. Wasn't what we got unfortunately.

Also Gerrard cited Ince as somebody he modelled his game on and got to see him first hand to work at that.
Up there with my least favourite signings ever.

The silver lining from yesterday’s game is that United fans seem to think Ten Hag is the second coming of Fergie all of a sudden
That’ll last….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been a bit ridiculous. Watching the game it didn't feel like a classic to me and It didn't look like we even played out of our skin. Was a bit surprised by their reaction after the game.
Being a Liverpool fan it feels like I see games like that regularly. They must be starved of the good stuff as they're over the moon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure we do see games like that all the time if I'm honest, not with the context of this one anyway.
Firstly, the FA Cup is their season - there's little else to hope for beyond top 4 qualification which is unlikely.
Secondly, we're much better than them. Much better. To see your main rivals are significantly better always adds an element of backs against the wall. We've not been in that position with Utd for a decade now. We used to be, no doubt about it, but not for a while.
Thirdly, they would have felt it wasn't their day for much of that match. We dominated large periods but two of our goals were pretty large deflections and then Rashford missed an absolute sitter at the end of normal time.
And last minute goals always add that extra but of euphoria. There's something special about a last gasp winner.
All things considered, I can totally understand why they're over the moon. If we'd pulled off that result in the mid-90's when we were finishing 6th and a mile off the pace, we'd have been the same.
It was their day, they're right to celebrate. I just hope we're celebrating a Europa League and EPL title come the end of the season...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all from their point of view, not ours. For me it was nothing that special.
Going to Malta next week with a couple of mates and we've just bought tickets for Malta v Belarus

You’re kidding right?
A last minute 4-3 win against your biggest rival in extra time?! We’d be over the moon and we were massive favourites. I completely get why they’re excited about the game and the performance.
But it’s still United and they’re still shiiiit. I do expect to drop points there though in a few weeks.

How surprising…..
So baldy Webb says that Doku wins the ball first and it was a subjective decision. Had ref given it then it would have remained a pen but because Doku got a touch (which he didn't) then it's not a pen
