Very rarely does Klopp get games wrong but today was one. No idea why Gomez started at right back I thought he was awful.
Silly to give Bradley a full 90 against Sparta. Such a shame we couldn’t get Salah off in that game.

We just needed to shut up shop. United system was a mess. They had Maguire inverting into a target man leaving Bruno and Antony at the back. They flooded the side with attackers. The sensible change should have been to leave Gomez and play a back 5 but Klopp has this obsession of changing full backs. Klopp really had a mare after the Antony goal.

Think you have to give Utd and EtH some credit tbh.
Sure, we could have locked the game off better, and to concede from your own corner is amateur, but we were trying to win the game and that’s served us very well over the years.
I think the fixtures caught up with us a bit but Utd ere brave, brought on all their attackers, left two up and got their rewards.
It was a great game.
If it was like a typical 2-1 United win where McTommy makes it 2-0 etc and we are out that would be easy to take but in that 2nd we took the game to a level which United could not live with. We actually broke United but then conceded a goal to Antony and the rest was history.
Defo a brilliant game. Let's see what happens in 3 weeks.
I'm definitely not complaining tbh and I said before the game I wasn't feeling it like usual.
We already won the league cup which is great because it concludes early. Last time we tried to go for the other 3 competitions we ended up with the smallest trophy, losing to City by a point and the CL final to Madrid. I would have given up both domestic cups for even one of the CL or PL without hesitation.
We have had one of the worst injury records in the league and a squad with a midfield that should technical be using this season to get settled and accustomed. We are still in the Ropey League and a tight ass title race.
Feels sheet to lose but honestly, would we have hacked it? We won the league cup playing kids but we won't be able to pull that off again this season IMO. This exit gives us a decent chance in the other competitions. Arsenal cleverly exited the cups early. Let City try to win the FA cup as far as I'm concerned. We need the league for Klopp's fairwell.
Or at least the Europa League which is actually the only trophy Klopp hasn't won with Liverpool. He could complete the set. It's written in the stars.
Basically, you stretch yourself too thin and end up with little or nothing. Need to be realistic.
Funniest thing is rival fans saying we've lost out on the quad, when even if we won it they'd all be saying it's not a quad.

A lot of exaggeration and pants jizzing going on, as usual.
We blew it yesterday, had multiple chances to put the game to bed second half and paid the price.
Fack it, move on to the next game
Still plenty to play for
Losing a name change bet to Barry was the icing on the cake for me
Think a lot of players were just cooked to be honest.
Our squad right now is either full of players who have played 10 odd games in a month, or those who have just come back from injury so can't yet do a full 90.
Klopp's hands were a bit tied in that regard, but the only question mark over it is why we played the likes of Salah for 90 minutes v Sparta.
Take it on the chin. We got bigger fish to worry about now

That was never the plan to be fair, Clark’s injury forced our hand there
I’d much rather with the Europa anyway, and although 2 extra games wouldn’t have added too much burden the Fa cup is the one I cared least about.
Hope some of our lads get some rest over the next two weeks and we finally start getting a squad back.

Gakpo getting alot of abuse online from our so called fans which is not acceptable.
Yes when he came on he wasn't great but we should have had game won before that.
i know we attacked in the chelsea game, but with like 1 minute left is it wise to send everyone forward?
Endo messed up at the end. He went to win that ball and got in Elliott's way and we got hit on the break. Endo and Bradley were the last men.
I don't think the players looked cooked personally, perhaps a bit in extra time which is understandable for any team, we just took the wrong decisions when we completely dominated the game in the second half and didn't make our dominance count.
It was one of those occasions where we had so much possession at times I don't think the players could quite believe it and it lulled us into a false sense of security. There was one ridiculous spell in the second half where I don't think United touched the ball when in play for about 5 minutes straight. I remember Garnacho throwing his arms in the air wondering what was going on.
Too much possession can often be a bad thing for us to the point we end up doing nothing with it. Also there will be days where that killer goal just won't go in and you need to be sensible and solid at the other end. Instead we gave away stupid goals.
Honestly I’d happily sell Gakpo for somebody like Ivan Toney who can put the ball in the net with regularity tomorrow.
Gakpo just offers so little.
How we messed up that 5 on 2 break in normal time when 2-1 up is beyond me. We didn't even get a shot off. Ultimately we failed to kill the game off when on top.
But if we win in the league game then I really won't care. Was interesting to see how Ten Hag put Wan Bissaka at left back to counter Salah cutting in. If he does the same in the league we need a plan to get the full back to overlap Salah more to cause AWB problems.
Don't think Gakpo needs to be replaced by a goal scorer to be honest as he's got 13 goals himself this season despite being 5th choice.
If he gets replaced I think it needs to be someone who offers more to the all round game whether that's better link up play or a winger who will take people on etc.
Gakpo has like 18 goals/assists this season, even in his best season Origi never matched that. All that despite starting this season in midfield too.
Teams would kill for a fringe player like Gakpo, he's just out of form
