If Trent signs a new deal and get us a massive fee to go to Madrid he goes with my blessing. If he runs his contract down and goes on a free he can get to fvck.

Yeh, he's be their "type" of player but always got the feeling he'd stay with Liverpool, might depend on who the new manager will be but think the board and the club will want him there.

I think he'll sign but if ever there was a perfect situation for him to leave then this is surely it.

1 year left on his deal, Klopp going, could potentially win the league again this year and go out on a high having already won every trophy possible with his boyhood club.

Classic contract negotiations in place here. We probably offered him 250k a week but he wants 300k and his agent is leaking RM links. Both parties will settle at 275. You might say that is a lot for a defender but he is vice and future captain of the club. Plus he is a brilliant player.

Can you really seeing Trent wanting to leave after the comments he made about Man City on trophy worth? He is a red scouser.

On a side note, Kyle Walker was very complimentary of Trent on his podcast with Rio. I thought they had some beef but clearly not.

Hope this is right, does seem to be taking a long time. Funnily enough the lack of noise about his contract worried me, and now the tenuous links to Madrid are worrying me more lol
