I would’ve been a lot more annoyed at Robbo’s injury had I not seen Gomez play absolutely brilliantly at LB this season.

Gomez was horrendous tonight up against Doku. Gave him a torrid time all game but Doku has done that to many in the past.

Actually think he’s better at left back weirdly because he has to concentrate more on that side. So yeah Robbo being out is sh*t, but having Gomez and Tsmikas as back up ain’t too bad.

Tsimikas was awful against Georgia. Had so many opportunities on the ball and sent so many balls behind the goal.

Did Bradley play left back yesterday?

Gomez is probably first option but you do get 0 G/A from left back and a shot in row Z.

Tsimikas will create more but still a bench option for me.

Poor Robbo

Gomez has done a fine job but hes not offering what Robbo or Trent do in terms of attack. Dont get me wrong hes capable of a brilliant cross or w.e now and then but the other 2 are miles better on the ball and linking with the attackers infront of them etc.

Personally I'm not hugely worried about G/A from LB. I'm always confident we'll create chances. At the risk of making a GB'esk list of players, we have Diaz coming back into form, Nunez just creates (chaos/opportunities), Salah back, Jota closer to return, Szobo back.

As long as we're tight at the back, I'd be confident we'd score against any team. Gomez could help that solid defensive unit. I'm glass half full on this.

To be fair to Gomez he's supposed to be a Centre Back. His versatility and ability to play any position across the defence and even DM to a reasonable standard is probably his greatest asset and contribution to the team.

I thought he was better than he is for us. He actually took on the Georgia Right back a couple of times and beat him once. He never takes on the RB for us.

Elliot balling-out in the U21s and apparently Quansah had a good game too. Wonder when Elliot get's a senior call-up, still only 20 which is nuts

I honestly don't get how Mainoo is getting call ups. Honestly he's done fack all.

He's still done fack all and if that's the level required to get an England call up then we are in trouble.

Mainoo is very talented tbh

I don't see it personally. Lots of talented players at that age too. Most end up doing fack all. I'd get it if he was putting in stellar performances every week but I feel he's literally done nothing and showed nothing special so far. If he wasn't at United he wouldn't get this call up.

Mainoo is getting overrated as f*ck. Does my head in honestly, just because United have been horrendous all season, he’s been one of their better players and now he’s the shining light.

Elliott has had a far better season but because he plays further up the pitch, doesn’t get selected. Also Jones has been good 2/3 seasons now, and still no call up. Southgate is so weird.
