Anyone into poker? I’ve got a final satellite tournament that starts in an hour to qualify for the Online WSOP day one tourno, where you go up against all the big pro’s. This final satellite is a $525 buy in, but I started in a $5 qualifier.

$3.5m first prize which obviously I have a 0.0000001% chance of winning, but min payout is around 12k on the final day. Just for clarity I’m not actually expecting to get through this next part!

Not played for years. Never had the patience for it really big bluffer lol, though i was in decent profit on all platforms i played poker on. Started on william hill, betfair then pokerstars. Used to just play small 1/2 table tourns for 3-5 quid buyins. That was enough for me, had a gd success rate on em, especially william hill.

Pokerstars was more to just play with a mate, we'd enter like 2-300 ppl tourns for like a dollar or sumin. we scammed a few tourns working together a few times when we made the same table or final table together.

Also im one of those that would feel sick losing a 10er highest buyin i did was probably that. Even when its pure profit im playing with its awful..

Feel sick when a mate loses money gambling and ones a degen gambler. Watched him win about 40k over a few weeks on slots on a non gambanned site not even fully licensed so could refuse payout at any moment but tbf they paid out. Huge hotstreak. tried to persuade him to pay off the gov loan for the mortgage or sumin with it but other than a few gifts a holiday for a few grand it all went str8 back in to the casino then he banned himself from it. I felt worse than he did about it.

I play poker a lot and do quite well out of it. That’s a fvcking great opportunity. My mate bought a house doing exactly that.

You’ll need a bit of luck, everyone does, went out on AA in a tourney last week after hitting trips and they hit a straight on the turn and river. What can you do? Poker, like football, can be a b!tch to gamble on.

Ah well, that particular attempt is over! Satellites are such a nightmare to manoeuvre. It’s a relatively short game so far looser than if you were playing a full on tourno. Two hands did me, I had KQo and got done by JTo, and then I had a pair of A’s after the flop, shoved in and got done by a flush and his cards were 75d….

Like you said, it’s a biaatch and you’re at the mercy of the gods. Fun while it lasted.

Three of the players on my table were pro’s and their winnings on this site alone were over $1m

I was sitting with nearly all the chips just playing it safe waiting for the inevitable. I knew two of the other guys, well i knew of them, through a guy who worked in my office. One was his brother and the other a friend of his. They clearly worked together and we're communicating and ended up taking me out. Probably split the winnings.

I detest any form of cheating but more so with poker. In its purest form it’s a really challenging and skilful game, but it’s so open to cheating. Even the WSOP winner this year was controversial as he had someone with a laptop on the sidelines who was checking solvers whilst play was going on.

I find some sites worse than others. I took all the joining bonuses on the other sites and made some decent money and then just deleted. Party Poker is barely playable these days, 888 is awful, Poker Stars the same.

GG is the only one worth playing but is actually very good imo.

GG is the only one I play. Massive amount of tournaments to choose from and any budget catered for. I tend to stick between $5-25 range, with the odd $54 one occasionally.

Loads of really bad players too, though they do wipe you out far too often
