Will he stay at the club? In his old role?

The statement said he has left the club. I assume he's probably getting a job somewhere else too.
Cheers Tim
Enjoy the payoff
The right decision going forward. He should never have got the job in the first place - going straight from youth team manager to one of the prime jobs in England didn't seem right somehow - I still maintain he should have learnt his trade elsewhere.
He's acquitted himself well in some respects, not so well in others (to say the least). Our defence has become a complete shambles under his stewardship, he's alienated certain players, after criticising AVB for doing the same; he's failed to control his emotions on the touchline and he's carried out some bizarre antics.
He's also really struggled in the big games - whether they be cups or against the teams in the top 4. Our squad is not vastly inferior to Liverpool's or Arsenal's, they've just underperformed. The fact Sunday was the first time we've scored in the first 15 minutes said it all. He seemed determined to take us back to the 90s - high-scoring and entertaining at home, but very vulnerable defensively and useless against any team with a coherent plan, and poor away from home (including a number of unforgivable collapses).
He said he didn't want people to feel sorry for him, and I don't think we should. He talked himself into the job, demanded a long contract that he had no right to demand, and he's done a decent job, but nothing special.
The sad truth is he's too raw and inexperienced to have us competing next season, and you simply can't play 4-4-2 and no defensive midfielder in the modern era. May yet be an excellent manager, but he's not the right man to be leading us forward and I don't particularly want him as the mouthpiece for my club.

Who would you want?
Dream scenario - Ancellotti (but I seriously doubt it)
Realistic scenario - De Boer

Incredible really, why did Levy bother appointing him in the first place?
May as well have seen the season out with AVB.
Who next?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that Levy thought he could attract Van Gaal/De Boer to the club mid season. When they said they didn't want to break their contracts all that was left was a temporary option.
Although the media will make out it is an outrage.

I reckon this is spot on too no other explanation is feasible. Not a chance did Levy sack AVB cos Tim was in his ear saying he could do better
