Who are these 4 stronger sides? Aside from Liverpools strikers both having amazing seasons your squad isn't any better than United's. You got top 4 due to a collapse in our home form. The reality is your pre-season assessment of United is incorrect and based on 1 poor season with a terrible manager. Buy some top players and a new manager who will actually get the best out of players and I can see a quick upturn in results. You forget this exact same Liverpool team were told they would struggle to finish top 4.
Would Liverpool have finished in the Top 4 with the same team with Roy Hodgson as Manager? No
Gooby....u what? how bizarre to say a team who finished 20 points ahead of utd is of the same quality of utd bar the strikers!
Coutinho..sterling..hendo..gerrard..skrtel along with studge and suarez are better in their positions than utd equavalent; 20 points the delta kinda proves it.
So why did the same players at Liverpool finish so far behind United the previous season GB?
No, we weren't told we would struggle to make top four, we were told, quite unequivocally across these boards, there would be no chance we'd get top four.
We didn't get top four because of your collapse, there were two teams we finished above. As in, we weren't just better (in the league, let me stress) than you this season, we were better than Arsenal and Chelsea. Had you played well this season there would be no guarantee you would have made top four.
I do hope United do well this season as it would be more fun to go at you lot when you're at your best than at your worst, and you'll definitely manage it better knowing you've got a week to prepare for games, but one bad season is sometimes all it takes.

Exactly...
I fear this will be too much for GB to comprehend though, he seems quite simple.
The reality is we had a terrible season they had an amazing one. Nothing more. Thankfully we all start on 0 points for the new season and no more moyes
GB why didn't you respond to the bottom question then?
If your teams THAT good, would you have finished in the Top 4 if you still had Roy Hodgson?

It wasn't the same players
We didn't sign coutinho and Sturridge until mid year
United's teams other than the Tevez - Rooney - Ronaldo trifecta hasn't ever been much better than ours but they had the best manager of all time making them greater than the sum of their parts. There's no surprise that once you lost him you dropped down the league.

Everyone said once red nose left and refs no longer had to fear him that you'd plummet down the table
Turns out everyone was right
So why else did you drop 7 places in the league and have a 40+ Point swing against us?

I love it when oppo fanboys use the ' If you took all your good players away then you wouldn't be as good' argument.
No shít sonny.........
I've got news for you.
If any team in the world took away their best players they wouldn't be as good.
But they're OUR players and they are part of our team.
A team which is being improved all the time.
A team which is FAR better than the hotch potch of also rans down the east lancs road.

You think Liverpool's teams have been as good as United's over the last 25 years. Your opinion is now irrelevant
Lallana and Fabregas wouldn't be the same price.
Even if the transfer fee was £30m each, Lallana would probably command something like 60k a week which would probably double his Saints wages. Over 5 years that's a total outlay of £45m.
Fabregas would be on more like 150k a week, if not more. That's a total outlay of £70m over 5 years.
You can't just look at the possible transfer fees and say 'that's clearly a better deal!'. It's not that simple.
Last 25 years isn't what I meant I meant since Rafa was in charge but didn't write that
Of course our players were nothing on your side of 1999 etc! But in the last 6 or 7 years there's not been that much in it.

That's quite probably true, but you'd have to think that Fabregas would bring a lot more revenue in with shirt sales etc which would cover the higher wages.
So it could possibly still be a better deal.

What's Fergie got to do with it? He claimed Liverpool's team has been equal to United's since Rafa took charge. Then scoffed because I didn't have facts to back it up
We won Trophies consistently and finished above you consistently making our team better, Fact. If Liverpool do the same they will be a better team than United, End of. There's there's nothing to debate.
I don't think Fabregas is such a big deal that he would sell bucket loads of shirts.
Other than Arsenal fans nobody loves him.
No he didn't you reetard.
