Can't say im surprised Sevilla fans aint too fussed tbh especially when we are massively overpaying for someone who offers very little if any improvement on Enrique or even Johnson/Flannagan at LB at this current time.
Its a massive risk paying that on a lb who hasn't kicked on since announcing himself as a top talent on the scene for Spains unders. Even if BR pulls it off it I expect it will take a few years just like with Emre Can for them to be seen as upgrades.
Doesn't look like we are intent on improving our first team for next season as it stands for now. Plenty of time left though and I remain hopeful.

I don't mind saying a player is playing badly when he is...but writing him off before he has even kicked a ball for us is just ridiculous IMO
were you saying the same about sturridge and coutinho?? no im sure you weren't! obviously you spotted they were going to be awesome from a mile off.....!

You said yesterday that you'd hardly seen him because you don't watch much Spanish football?
Sevilla fans wanting to get rid, if this is a few off that article that was posted before then do the 10 or so that posted comments speak for the 35,000 or so that attend games everyweek? If that's the case then we'll take 10 people's views off here then aye?
who the fecks writing him off?

True I haven't, but in the same way most of you haven't seen him to say hes worth 18m either... I did some research on him and his form/stats/ratings/reviews etc don't indicate he is currently worth 18 mill.
This doesn't mean im writing him off just noting it will take time for him to develop into a better player and that I doubt he will prove to be an instant improvement on what we already have.
From the little I have seen of him and everything else ive seen/read about him I am not surprised Sevilla fans aint bothered. Similar to how we was with Jonjo Shelvey.
Either way if BR wants him then im happy enough with that, just question his intent on buying a player who will go straight into the first team and improve us. But like I said plenty of time left.
In fairness, some of the fan's comments on the lfc official website are shocking.
I would not would read into some possible handpicked individual opinions of random fans
Non story if you ask Me
Lets take the article with a linch of salt shall we.
They may well have cherry picked the odd one saying they'd be happy to see him go but someone could see this thread, take Mamadous comments and write an article saying that Liverpool fans think hes rubbish too.
Doesnt mean the vast majority of both sets of fans think its the case.
IUn all honesty last summer if we'd been offered £20m for Sterling I'm sure there would have been a few Liverpool fans saying that we wouldnt be doing too badly in selling. Look at the strides he has made since then.
Talks Rubbish, that's what I meant to say!

Funnily enough I was extremely excited/happy with these signings. But tbh we were in a totally different boat and it wasn't hard to see they were massive improvements on the absolute sh ite we had at the time anyway...
We got those at a good price too both were cut price deals because their clubs wasn't that fussed about losing them so that helped.
I will reiterate again and say im not saying Moreno/Can are bad or will fail or w.e you like to think im saying. Just saying they are signings for the future rather then improving our first team for next season. Im hoping we purchase atleast one quality who is currently better then a first team player we have. So far we haven't signed one or looked other then Lallana possibly but being bent over for him too...
But we'd get bent over for any quality player that would improve our first team, reports have said we've had a bid turned down for Sanchez. If clubs don't want to sell, what can you do?
Average players do not get to the fringe of one of the best international teams ever, Enrique doesn't even get close so this boy at 21 has something. Luke Shaw for £30m????
Im not fussed tbh was just hoping our first team to be strengthened for next season not just our squad or for the future.
Mamadou
How much does our first team need improving? We finished 2nd by a few points, and never looked outclassed in any of the matches. Yes we could do with a bit of improvement here and there but our main weakeness last season was always strength in depth.
When City needed a goal against Villa they brought on Decko, when needed a goal against Chelsea we brought on Aspas.

Not saying we should take the article too seriously but I think a discussion about it helps balance out the views on the Moreno deal. There has only been nothing but positivity about the deal but I do feel that we should remain level headed with our expectation with him.
I don't think it needs improving much at all, but theres always room for a top quality player. CB/DM are our weakest positions imo I wouldn't say they were terrible either.
Theres a few players I think we all want to see kick on next season too like Allen and Sakho for example. This alone hopefully will improve out first team if it happens.
I agree with TalksRubbish on this.
Just how many first team spots are up for grabs? One - LB and that's because ours has not played for a year.
Moreno will come in and be an improvement on Flanno at LB in terms of offering an attacking threat down the left. I can judge that from youtube tbh.
Why does anyone care about the money anyway as the point is BR wants the lad and our owners won't let us go bust I would not have thought.
I'm unsure BR has the best eye for a player but we have to trust him and as said we're playing a 20 year RB at LB at the moment.
It's all good.
Why does anyone care about the money anyway
Only due to the fact it could be spent elsewhere.
If we bought Lallana for example for £30m or Kono and Shaquri (sp) for £35m I know who I would prefer to get in.
I would want the best player and the one that BR wants.

It's not necessarily about the total amount it's more about how much you spend on an individual player. For £30m, Lallana is going to have a much bigger expectation than if we signed him for £20m. And besides I wouldn't want my club to spending for the sake of spending. And then there's FFP to think about as well.
There's plenty of reasons why fans should worry about their club spending too much on transfers, I don't agree with this whole, I'm not the club's accountants so it shouldn't bother me.
So worry when we spend and worry when we don't??
I don't know how some people sleep at night worrying so much!
