Glen Johnson to sky one into row Z, hit Blatter on the nose and rebound into the net for the winner.

...still, the 2010 WC worked out well for France, didn't it?
That's true Red karma certainly came up and smacked them with a baguette.
The reaction in Ireland was hilarious, any Irish people on her ewill know who Joe duffy is, he does a radio show daily discussing issues etc.
He had mad auld ones ringing him for weeks saying all kinds of things about Henry. It was funny because football fans got over it after a day or two like we all do, but non football fans just couldn't let go.
I really don't understand how anyone who isn't Ghanaian can be bitter towards Suarez over the World Cup handball. He'd be a national hero in any country reaching its first World Cup semi in 40 years. Knew full well he was ruling himself out of a potential semi but he put his team and country first.
I'd actually been rooting for Ghana and thought it was a tragic way for them to go out, but I'd do the same thing Suarez did each and every time.

I think a lot of people who are angry with Suarez deep down are angry because they were supporting Ghana, and very disappointed with the result, not because it was an unusual thing to happen. Also a bit of retrospective projection because of the things he has done since joining Liverpool that have not increased his popularity.

I wouldn't mind, but I would draw the line at a 'Maradonna' or 'Suarez' - blatant cheating would feel more hollow than being given the trophy by default
--------------------------------
Maradona's goal was disgraceful, but I don't blame Suarez for sticking his hand up to prevent a certain goal in the 119th minute of extra time.
If James Milner was standing on the line in the same situation, I'd fully expect him to take one for the team and do what Suarez did
I am 99% sure that I wouldn't celebrate a Maradona style goal and 100% sure with a Suarez style save.... I can understand why most would, but it's not for me.

Probably, if you're not Ghanaian though it's still a massive overreaction imo.
Is there any difference between Maradona and Suarez's goal? How can one be disgraceful, but the other not?

Indeed.
At least it was in their own hands, the penalty was simply awful.
Imagine how the poor Algerian fans felt in 82, sitting through 90 minutes of a far worse World Cup 'crime'.

Didn't the penalty hit the bar, hardly what you would describe "simply awful".
I think in those instances, the ref should just send the player off and give the goal. There was just no disputing it. It was a goal until the player cheated (Forza )
That was mad Major and at least Fifa sorted the issue out with the dual kick off times.
It would have been great if it was Germany and Holland in that game just to see what each team would have done.

The difference is that one happened to us and the other happened to Ghana.
not a crime at all. Why should Germany and Austria have gone out to try and win the game when they didnt need to and run risk of losing and getting eliminated?
thats why FIFA changed it so final group games ko at same time.
.............................................................
Fans paid hard earned money to watch a game that was essentially settled before kick-off. I understand your point of view but it was poor.
Thankfully the rules were changed, it was an embarrassing game of football.

I would love it if Rooney does a swan dive wins a pen, and its the winning goal.
kneerash,
The Dutch would have tried to send them packing.
Yes Forza, I didn't literally mean it was a crime. They didn't break any rules but it was bad enough for FIFA to thankfully play the group games simultaneously.
After the Germans scored there was hardly a serious attempt at goal, it was a stroll. They could've played for a month of Sundays with no change.
Welbeck doing it would be better.
it is not in the ref remit to give a goal in that situation.
--------------------------
hence the fact that i said "I think that...."
Try learning English before you call things out for being silly.
The was for the fact that you don't think he cheated.
