Lords was keeping low, but not headingley
Cook needs to retire from international cricket and concentrate on his sheep farming.
#AskDravid How do you react when you're out? Are you a bat-thrower?
"I was a glove-thrower. I didn't want to sacrifice my bat. I'd sit with my pads on for a long time. I'd still have them on an hour later. I wish I like Virender Sehwag. Five minutes later he'd be whistling, changing his kit. I'd brood too much."
If anything sums up Viru that is it.

excellent knock Vijay
Bat long lad
Moeen Ali will never make a front line spinner. looks a good batsmen who bowls al few overs.
I find joe root to be tossar. just his whole attitude when he fields. and now hes onto bowl. bowls in a sweater.. hes on to get trough a few balls. not on to take wickets.
Why doesnt cook go upto the groundman at the end of play and get him to apologise for this pitch. Its slow and dry with no grass on it.. its dry and will start dusting. who on gods earth produced a wicket to suit India? shocking from th ecb..
You know in the first session of play today.. the first morning of a test. you expect something to happen. It did nothing from ball one. no grass to even assit the bowlers.
If India do not lose another wicket..I'd say its a decent start to the series .
Mind you, if this wicket is nice and flat, coupled with India's bowling..England should be scoring 500+....anything else is failure
550 plays 530 and game over on day 4 and you wonder why test cricket is going down hill.

Really hope not...with the current situation of the teams, it could potentially be a cracking series, and even a deciding 5th test,.
I dont see how you can create results on wickets like these.. The longer you go into the summer the flatter the wickets get...
The groundsman could have least left some grass on.When India travel to newzealand or South Africa. theres no way would they take off the grass
When England travel to Inidia. they prepare wickets that start to turn from day one. because the pitch isnt watered for a few days prior to the game.
preparing flat wickets is wrong.. all its doing is giving the indian batsmen more confidence.. I feel sorry for the bowlers..

the pitch is pretty dead. Even last year they prepared these sort of pitches for the aussies. Although then they had swann and Australia being poor spin players.
India will really need around 400+ if they roll over tomorrow for less than that they could well give away this test.
I remember India were in a similar position in SA where they were 255 -5 on day 1 with one more batsman to come, and went to 288 all out. So England are still well in game. We have seen so far and last year as well that 2-3 wickets falls in quick succession and it could well be the case here tomorrow.
I hope Indian bowlers bowl well cause if england are struggling, im not sure how well our pacers will do. Jadeja might be key again in such a pitch.
And now after all this the trent bridge curator says he wanted a fast bouncy pitch. i mean seriously? most of these counties are thinking short term imo. they are trying to stretch the matches for 5days, but in long term people will get bored of this type of cricket where nothing is happening and then they will start struggling to get fans for the first 3 days.
I would rather tests last 4 days, and if the players are really skilled they will be able to negate the most difficult situations.
At the moment only India really are producing good sporting wickets which offers exciting cricket(unfortunately indian fans back home dont come to watch them) and maybe Australia as well. the rest in the last 3 years have produced some pretty crap wickets
too much about the pitches. Coming back to this test. Murali played well. happy for him. he was definately not a favourate for many of the fans but he proved many wrong today. Hope he carries on tomorrow until tea atleast with dhoni.
Hopefully Binny and jadeja can add atleast 100 between the 2.
And dhoni should make sure he doesnt overuse the bowlers. No point of bowling a bowler to the floor in the first innings of many to come. Use jadeja as much as possible and keep on rotating the bowlers cleverly.
Cook generally gives his bowlers some long spells and by the end of the innings they look like they will need ambulance to take them to the hotel. Dhoni should be careful there.
one last thing the wickets last summer were even drier than the one now. it did more when the ball pitched.
deliverys like the ones that bowled Clarke. move off the seam and were unplayable.
Its just a good batting wicket..I wouldnt have a probem preparing the same kind of wickets against Australia next summer just to counter act their bowling and england may have a better chance of scoring.
But you shouldnt fear Indias bowling. If you cant get pace into the wicket at least leave some green grass on there.
The groundsman need to get their acts together. If they're going to prepare dead pitches this will be a very dull series.
I bet they start preparing fast bouncy pitches for Mitchell Johnson next year
