Kav,

Most people that want Dhoni out want him replaced with virat. Virat hasn't achieved nothing yet and away from home he's average at best with the bat.. Give him the responsibility and accountability for captaincy on top of that and you are half way there to destroying him before he's reached 25! All of Indias opponents would love it if you did that, because it would set you bank a few more years.....

Graeme Smith was given the Test captaincy when he was barely into his twenties. At the time the move was criticised because they said he hardly had done anything to justify such a big role and had only played 8 Test matches. I'm not saying that Kohli if made captain will go on to be even an inch as successful but what I have been saying is that Indian cricket needs a fresh outlook at the moment - only in the long version of the game because Dhoni is the perfect limited overs captian.

Kohli is an extrovert - he leads by example and wears his heart on his sleeve. In a way very similar to Ganguly who was remarkably aggressive. After the debacle of the last half decade this is what Indian cricket needs in my book. If made captain I can see our cricketers automatically becoming more aggressive and showing more fight simply because that the leader is like. Dhoni is the complete opposite as a passive character and has failed miserably for many years now. Clearly its not ideal with Kohli in poor form and supposedly not ready for such a burden but he was always the only natural successor anyway. If it has to be brought forward a couple of years then so be it.

Kav not with India though. We dont have experiance in the team. With SA i think they had a few well established players. India dont have that luxury in the test front. If kohli was given captaincy when the tendulkars and dravids were there then it would have been fair. Now we dont have any players that even have little bit of experiance. or if say Kohli performed here he might have still stand a chance of captaining the chance.

He was found out and I think he is likely to struggle in Australia as well. Mitch, Ryan harris, lyon and some one like siddle will expose this fragile batting again. I dont think kohli can improve his technique in this short period and unless he finds a way against his weaknesses outside off stump he is going to be a walking wicket.

Even someone of the calibre of Cook and Pieterson were not able to overcome Australian bowling attack when they had every bit of confidence of winning 3-0 at home.

If England was a disaster then Australia will be a tsunami. And the fact is even though everyone knows the results we can do jack about it.

Especially in a stage where our top 3 have struggled, there is no way kohli will be able to survive as a batsman at no.4 with a captaincy's burden.

A captaincy could be good for Kohli but not at the expense of his batting. Sometime when you give a player captaincy they generally tend to bat at lower down the order. With India since we barely have test batsmen, we can barely afford to lose Kohli as a no.4.

In any case I think we should give Ashwin the captaincy since he is a thinking player and he can play as an allrounder, womething like Angelo Mathews. That IMO should be what we should do.

Viru South Africa's team back in 2003 had a lot of missing links and their bowling was very hit and miss Ntini included although Pollock was fantastic. Also the batsmen who started out under Smith included Dipenaar, Rudolph, McKenzie and a very young Smith himself - hardly household or experienced names at the time. Maybe give Kohli a chance at home to the likes of West Indies or Bangladesh and give him time to adapt to the role. That is what I would be looking at because Dhoni is not the future anymore and he's not a little kid.

I don't expect much from the Australia series anyway. It would be nice to come out of a series though and say yes we may have lost but even so the team showed a lot of heart and fight. Something that has never occured in an overseas series under Dhoni as far back as I can remember.

Pujara is playing for Derbyshire until the end of season. Glad he has taken up that step. Not sure what other players that are playing odis doing.

Wont be suprised if Pujara is the only bright spot in Australia. Cause I have full faith in other failing.

For ODIs I predict another series lose for India and all in all, a series loss will do wonders to Indian cricket. So rather lose this series for a massive shake up.

India will win the one day series 2-0, Kohli will get a couple of hundreds and be called world class again.

Prospect of any play today looks bleak, good for England, bad for India.

Much better forecast for tomorrow I believe.. Prefer the longer form of the game.. So no idea who will be either 11's
Who will india opt for?

Im not sure about the combinations, but im very sure that both rohit and shikhar dhawan will fail. That is one thing I am very certain about.

The latest controversy from dhoni - declaring duncan flecher as the coach until WC despite BCCI saying his tenure will be decided by the report ravi shastri gives.

This has not gone well with the BCCI and they have told dhoni he has no business in deciding when duncan flechers tenure should end.

ahh, finally we have the N srinivasan post era signs. its clear how much power dhoni has in this team thanks to N srinivasan. Now hopefully since srinivasan is no longer in the BCCI as he has moved in ICC we will see dhonis powers cut.

If India want to make changes they should do it now. No point in waiting until WC.any sane fans should know that India stand no chance in the WC and so might as well make changes for the betterment of the team

India's bowling looks so weak. very poor from India. They just dont want to adapt. The same bowling attack that bowls in India bowls in countries like SA, ENg and no wonder we have been losing so many odis as well

dhawan goes. in the 21 balls he has faced, not an inch of his feet moved. We might have to go back to sehwag in one days.

Atleast w=he will get India to a flying start. rohit and dhawan have been so average that they are neither scoring themselves and chew up so many balls.

I see it's continuing where the test series left off

dhoni is such an idiot. he is the best batsman for india in one day. should come at 3 and score and steady the ship.

why can we never adapt to batting orders?
