Goes to show what a weak league this is when we didn't play well yet still finished 6th while not losing to the team (Everton) that finished above us.

I'm not sure the league was weak. People quickly and easily forget how good our players are even with poor management. They could have probably finished close to where we finished managing themselves.

We forget how bad the teams we had in the past used to be and they finished 9/10th.

Think Capoue might be favoured over Sandro. Less injury prone

________________________________

People have very selective memories when it come to Capoue. How many games did he play last season???????? He was out injured for most of it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was he really injured though? I got the impression he was more out of favour with Sherwood than genuinely injured.
His previous injury was a clash with fatty cazorla. Sandros injuries seem to be more muscular/joint related

or if managed by a cabbage.

Sherwood felt it wise to play paulinho and siggy together in CM ffs.

the man has not a clue, not one clue.

Or Chadli in CM

------

he was just taking the pissss with that. knew he was getting the chop so was having a laugh.

either that or he pulled the team selections out of a hat.

Sherwood is really odd guy. Especially as he was a defensive mid. Some type of psychological denial of that position even existing.

didn't help that he shat out the team lineups either.

done himself no favours at all getting a future job by mouthing off in the press at every opportunity like redknapp did - only unlike redknapp, he didn't back it up on the pitch.

majority of managers in football let their ego's ruin them or at least talk themselves out of jobs.

Sherwood
Keane
O'neil
Curbishley

I don't think these guys realised how long they would be out of the game for.

Obviously O'neill is making a comeback but didn't he walk out on Villa as Keane walked out on Sunderland. They think they are bigger than the club at times.

Sherwood and Keane had both achieved sweet FA to be soo arrogant and feel the media needed to hear what they had to say.

Sherwood demanding he had control of who he signed...do me a favour Tim! you don't even have your badges?!!

Rant over!

I seriously think all our team needs is good coaching. AVB didn't play to our strengths and Sherwood was clueless.

I can easily see Capoue being preferred to Sandro in the holding role. While his tackling is not so strong his use of the ball is much better.

Sandro still has role BUT i would reckon that if we got a £15m+ offer it would be hard to turn down and maybe replace with a younger understudy.

Can't see Dembele being used wide or enjoying such a role. It will be interesting to see if Poch can quicken up Dembele's decision making because he is a great player when on the ball, is strong, can go past players, retain possession in tight spots but he slows us down.

I think Eriksen is more likely to start from a wider position with licence to drift a bit and I would prefer it if we had a true AM in place of Paulinho in the centre. Someone like Lallana would be great OR may be Paulinho will up his game and his pace this season (although he showed no sign of doing so at the WC).

In the current squad only Eriksen provides creativity, Lamela MIGHT add another dimension if he starts to play well but really we need more creativity centrally. Imagine if Eriksen was out for a few months , everyone else just offers power or pace with no end product.

So i would expect Poch to have Capoue holding, Dembele and a new AM ahead of him, Eriksen from wide on one side and Lamela from the other.

We need pace though so someone like Remy would be a real good value option. Probably Ade up top.

That is why i would want us to have a creative option in the CM, in place of Paulinho whom, having watched him this season and the WC, seems to offer little creatively or defensively.

Maybe Lamela could be that central attacking role...who knows until we actually see him play.

In any event, I want Paulinho out an d hope that some one will stump up a minimum of £14m to cut our losses.
