dear mark, what you see is what you get.the bloke has to go ,simple,Tuesday was bad enough but today takes the buiscuit get rid ,hes a liability and not all the one pound coins jr conned of us last week will change my mind

Think is a bit soon for these comments but credit to you in naming a replacement, is more than most do and shows at least a bit of thought. Wouldn't be a bad choice either, decent enough manager. I'd personally give it 10 games then look to change if this situation hasn't turned round as a new manager doesn't always turn things around, especially with a budget of £0, so for now I say stick with what we have, pray for a bit of lady luck, hell we are long overdue some and see if Sean can't turn this around.

Sorry but I laughed at Mark Robins - not because I think hes a bad manager but he and Barnsley parted company because he wanted to spend a lot more money than was available - so not convinced he'd even come here IF we wanted him and thats a big if

We were very poor today but we weren't poor on Tuesday, or 2nd half last Saturday. Sheffield Utd sacked their manager after 3 games last season and did it help?

We've conceded 7 goals since the start of the season and spent £200,000 and Ispwich have spent at least 10 times that and conceded 15

im a realist not a fantasist,1997, remember that year?I do,we lost our first four games and you what?we got relegated.this has been coming since xmas, weve stale, predictable and boring,so i say with a heavy heart we need a different direction and quick

posted on 20/8/11

Is a big difference from 1997...the club was up **** streak off the pitch then and we got rid if so many players without replacing them and had interfering people in charge. A bit soon to press the old panic button, but chin up, no matter what you'll always be a Rover and worse things could happen, after all the worst will happen is league 1, we may even see fans return then if we start winning, deserters, dont you just love 'em... We ain't talking non league, a delapidated old ground, no money, no team just yet and as long as we continue to be run right I very much doubt we will again. Times are still good at DRFC, perhaps not quite as rosy as they were after our start last year, but good all the same.

i know that we are not in the same boat as 97as far as our finances are concerned but ive got the same feelig in my gut,you know what? i got a funny feeling that if we go out tuesday then lose to bristol city i think sods position will become untennable

Sounds like we have got people who have turned into Roman Abramovich. He doesn't know much about management either

what you on about?

Maybe Mick, just maybe. Win both and all will be looked at in a different light. Football's a funny old game, it's just that right now we're not the ones laughing. Let's hope Sean and the lads can whip up a little something on Tuesday to calm that old gut of yours. Keep the faith.

Mick

It was not good today i'll give you that. But i'm not sure what good kicking SOD out would do. I believe the players let themselves down today never mind the supporters. There was a plan A and a plan B and neither were executed properly. Plan A the passing game was played to slowly and plan B the boot it up to Brown didn't work as he had zero support. I will say though not playing Bennett from the start was a mistake especially as Coppinger didn't play. Have we had an explanation for this?

I hope for better on Tuesday but next Saturday is more important, we have to up our tempo and work rate starting now.

Come on Donny Til I Die, give him a break, he's hurting and worried due to our struggles, give the fella a break rather than having sly digs at him. Voice your opinion, but constructively, and respect Mick's opinions, they are equally as valid.

the point is when does jr say enough is enough?i say shut the gate BEFORE the horse bolts.you cant tell me the way we play excites you?if it does then you dont know the first thing about football.

drfc, thanks for your support but i ive got the feeling a lot of our supporters are in sort of na na land were you just leave things and hope things will sort them selves out, well Im sorry but its time people got in the real world.when teams like peterboro can put 6 past Ipswich we are in serious trouble

Please enlighten me what is exciting football?

@DRFC I'm hurting and worried due to our struggles too but it's way too early to be calling for any manager's head. Far too often we see clubs sack managers after just a few games. If it wasn't for SOD we wouldn't be where we are now but I agree that the fact he got us into the championship shouldn't give him immunity. All I was trying to say in a sarcastic way was that Abramovich keeps thinking that it's the manager that fails to give him the elusive Champions League. Instead it's Abramovich who is failing himself by not allowing things to develop. Let the injury situation sort itself out first and if we don't see an improvement then that will be the time to call for change

Was 7 they got in end Mick. Shocking they scored more in 1 game than we have in 5, including the cup that is. Like I said, I'll give it 10 games, then reassess my thoughts but do agree an overhaul is needed, off the pitch we need to become championship and accept that as this league gets more competitive each year we have to move with our rivals rather than falling ever further behind, new revenue streams are needed, to get them we need someone with some nouse to run the commercial aspects and also possibly our owners to accept they may have to dip deeper into their bulging pockets just as they keep asking and expecting us to do in our empty ones.

Donny Til I Die, I share your thoughts on being too soon, new managers aren't always the way especially without investment but Mick and anyone else who wants SOD out has a right to that opinion. Glad that you explained your comments though, constructive debate and respecting others opinions are what these boards are for after all

not what rovers play thats for sure.not passing the ball from side to side across the back then deciding it was better off where it was in the first place AKA woods.not having three players near the opposing teams corner flag playing hot ball while three players waving there arms about like madmen then deciding to pass it back to a certaian mr hird who does what he does best and boots it out for a throwin,by the way thats us 1/0 down with 10 minutes left need i go on?

Exciting football v winning football? Any reason why we can't have both?

When we play well it is exciting, and when we don't it goes pear-shaped like today. Today we were dire, the support was pathetic but its not been like that up until today - well the football hasn't, the support has been lacking

Slightly OT but Ben Davies has been an excellent signing for Derby, watched him play for Notts County a few times last season. Not surprised to see Jamie Ward go off injured though, he'd have fit right into our team

@DRFC I used to be a regular contributor on the old 606 as you may remember, but now I just tend to read and keep my thoughts to myself. But occasionally something just seems to 'get to me'. I will always explain anything contentious if I'm asked to. With reference to my comment "He doesn't know much about management either" I do have a semi-professional coaching background, albeit it Rugby League, so I do know what I'm speaking about. I've had decimated teams make unexpected comebacks after overcoming injuries

posted on 20/8/11

I expected our fans to give Shackell a lot more stick, like they did at Derby. I know he's a good player but the Derby fans were giving it the 'greedy *******' to Barnes when they've got one of the most mercenary players of the league starting for them. If Armthorpe Welfare offered him £5 a week more than he's on now he'd move

posted on 20/8/11

the difference with the rovers from our first and second seasons in this league is that the players believed in what they where doing, now i dont believe they do ithink they are starting to question the messiahs tactics, that was very clear when we went behind.lose the players lose your job

Just read the post from Donny_lass and it made me wonder............if we get 2 good wins from the next 2 games, will everbody shut up about getting rid of SOD? Yeah probably (he says sarcasticly)
