As for villa being up there regularly challenging, I don't remember that.

I thought that season under big Ron was a bit of a one-off.

Apart from us overhauling them for our last title in 1990 & their run at their runners-up spot in that season, when did they challenge at the top?

I'll tell you what Shinjisshin, why don't we all just talk about Utd players, because all you seem to want to tell us is what we already know, from circa 1992-2003 Utd were dominting the PL and their players were the best. If we can all say this, then how the fook can they be underrated ?

Now, now, Lordy don't get sand in your knickers, I have replied to your post above. It's Dunc's birthday; he is the only one who is allowed to cry if he wants to.

they only finished out the top 6 3 times in 9 years, not a bad record for a team like villa.

noone liked going to villa park in those days.

I would say Michael Carrick most underated midfielder in the premierleague, constantly overlooked for england but broje records in europe and in the league with man utd.

Most underated defender has to be Rafael, even thugh he can be rash he is good at getting across to people and attacking.

Most underated striker has to be Javier hernandez, people think he just goal hangs when reality he is always waiting on the last man of the defender, can sniff a chance and can be deadly in front of goal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

1993 - 2nd
1994 - 10th
1995 - 18th
1996 - 4th
1997 - 5th
1998 - 6th
1999 - 6th
2000 - 6th

So apart from 1994 and 1995 they were always there or therabouts, not like now where they are lucky to escape relagation.

Not a bad record at all,

I was more referring to the early 90s, they had a couple of runners-up finishes to us & Utd but not much else I can remember.

Shinji, I do not care about house hole Utd players from the past because hardley any of them were underrated, we all know how good they were.

Wow ok Lord I heard you first time. Feck me I didn't even reply to you and you're getting all Lord of the Manor..............or is it just an act to match your screen name you cheeky little raver?

Fair enough, the second half of the 90s was certainly a good run for them.

I do remember them leading the league into the New Year under Gregory I think one season. How times have indeed changed.

So it was a one off really. Top 6 is excellent for Villa, but it isn't challenging (the top)

if Robbie Keane hadn't gone to Liverpool he;d probably be on this list

was a very consistent performer in a very inconsistent Spurs side

----------------

Not according to Spurs fans. He was incredibly inconsistent. Would score 5 in 5 then not score for 6 or 7 games. Would score world class goals, and miss sitters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He always scored against Lfc though, perhaps thats why they bought him, to stop him scoring against them.
