Terrible team. No balance.
Sturridge over RVP is laughable.
shifting mata out wide again, we've only just got him in the middle!

My thoughts exactly. What a waste of a top class number 10.
Personally I'm surprised that United fans think that they are going to have a flying debut season under van Gaal.
No doubt he's a top manager but I don't expect you to fly out of the traps. He's even described himself as a 'prozesstrainer', which basically means that his methods take time to implement.

No balance? It's probably the most balanced team that both sides could have if combined. Putting RvP and Rooney in the same side is unbalanced.

I have Mata playing as an inside left, a role he played many times for Chelsea.
There is a big difference between an out and out winger and an inside left. Shaw will provide the proper width.

Never well. Was the same story for us last season; his best games came when he was centrally.
Wide-left... pfft

Not read the comments yet but Agger?
Are you effing kidding me?
His heart is not in it anymore, surely he will be sold either before the end of the window or in January
Agger cannot even get into Liverpools shambolic defence

What on Earth does that mean? I'm simply saying that United fans have given off the impression that their team would be instantly back into top form from the get go, whereas I'm not so sure especially when the manager himself has confessed in the past that he doesn't expect his team to take to this methods straight away.
Jones is an actual head case though. When given the chance he has been a shambles at the back. Agger is a ball playing cb that even Barcelona tried bidding 23 million for a year back. With the right motivation agger is better than fecking Jones, the new Duncan Ferguson :s

Sorry but listing Gerrard's goals doesn't mean much when majority are penalties. Also he will be used sparingly. You seem to have been picky and picked out one slightly incorrect point but ignored the other things I have said. That's poor debating skills.
I think sterling is your biggest hope in terms of continuing that attractive game style as he is the only one I see in your team that may consistently dribble people with pace and create things. Lallana will help but big miss in suarez. Can you at least man to man United and Liverpool are similar?
-----------------
The OP was intended as a wum (unless he's more deluded that Got_Better) so I didn't really intend to have a good debate, but you seem like a genuine poster so I'll (try) give you a decent reply!
You're right that we'll miss Suarez but like I said in one of the original posts, he never seemed to perform as well against the big sides. This to me showed that we could cope when he wasn't playing or didn't play well.
I would disagree with the statement that United and Liverpool are similar man for man, the attackers in both teams are so different, watching United play last season I just can't see how that team which looked like s group of individuals could suddenly perform this season. Looking at Liverpools attackers you have Sturridge, Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho, Henderson. They are all young hungry players who will have improved playing with Suarez (bar Lallana), what our season will depend upon will be if they can continue to play in the fluid motion, quick counter attacking football that was played last year.
Our high pressing game was very effective against the bigger sides especially against Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton. We went blow for blow against a good Man City side and should have arguably beaten them at Ethiad, although Suarez played a big role in this, our players are more than capable of continuing what they were doing.
Last season Sturridge's 21 goals in 29 games is very very good however it was overshadowed by the even more profilific Suarez!
United have an ageing strike force he didn't seem to link, you've lost your experience in defence and have finally strengthened CM. But confidence is huge in football, last season could but a huge dent in the confidence of the players, under Ferguson United could have a bad result but he would deflect from the players, eg ref, not enough extra time etc. This allowed the players to be protected and enabled them to be confident the next time they came onto the pitch, having been around for so long this was engrained into the club. Ferguson leaving has made a huge impact on this and to suggest that it will all be rosey again under Van Gaal is naive, he isn't known for being as forgiving as most mangers and he has quite a strange style. It will be very interesting too see how you cope this season but all your fans seem to be on a high horse because you beat LA galaxy!
