The OP was intended as a wum

Looks like someone actually thinks there are more than one or two LFC players who would get a game for United

You will miss Suarez because a lot of attention was given to him. That allowed his mediocre team mates turn up and score goals.

You will also miss his diving and the freekicks and penalties awarded as a result of them.

You will do well to finish in the top 10

Facking Smalling and Evans? Have a word.

That defence minus Shaw would get ruined.

Henderlol over Herrera too

what exactly has shaw proven as yet?

and herrera? you basing that off one pre-season performance against a team that wouldnt even get into the championship??

Personally I'm surprised that United fans think that they are going to have a flying debut season under van Gaal.

No doubt he's a top manager but I don't expect you to fly out of the traps. He's even described himself as a 'prozesstrainer', which basically means that his methods take time to implement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So you are surprised we expect our team to have a flying start but do not hesitate to tell us in your opinion we will not have a flying start.

Wow
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What on Earth does that mean? I'm simply saying that United fans have given off the impression that their team would be instantly back into top form from the get go, whereas I'm not so sure especially when the manager himself has confessed in the past that he doesn't expect his team to take to this methods straight away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What it means is that you are critical of Utd fans for expressing an opinion but give us your own opinion.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know. And I was giving my opinion on your opinions, I never suggested that they were stupid I just said I was surprised and gave a reasonable point to argue my opinion.

Even if I said they were stupid that would be my opinion and perfectly valid according to you.

How those two big signings from the WC final teams coming along MUDD?

Fair enough, I think anyone who thinks Utd will suddenly struggle because we made the mistake of hiring an incompetent manager is deluded

to be fair Herrera was one of the most highly rated CM in la liga not in the Real of Barceona squad.

As it stands I think you'll struggle because of your playing staff.

Sorry but listing Gerrard's goals doesn't mean much when majority are penalties. Also he will be used sparingly. You seem to have been picky and picked out one slightly incorrect point but ignored the other things I have said. That's poor debating skills.
I think sterling is your biggest hope in terms of continuing that attractive game style as he is the only one I see in your team that may consistently dribble people with pace and create things. Lallana will help but big miss in suarez. Can you at least man to man United and Liverpool are similar?

-----------------

The OP was intended as a wum (unless he's more deluded that Got_Better) so I didn't really intend to have a good debate, but you seem like a genuine poster so I'll (try) give you a decent reply!

You're right that we'll miss Suarez but like I said in one of the original posts, he never seemed to perform as well against the big sides. This to me showed that we could cope when he wasn't playing or didn't play well.
I would disagree with the statement that United and Liverpool are similar man for man, the attackers in both teams are so different, watching United play last season I just can't see how that team which looked like s group of individuals could suddenly perform this season. Looking at Liverpools attackers you have Sturridge, Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho, Henderson. They are all young hungry players who will have improved playing with Suarez (bar Lallana), what our season will depend upon will be if they can continue to play in the fluid motion, quick counter attacking football that was played last year.

Our high pressing game was very effective against the bigger sides especially against Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton. We went blow for blow against a good Man City side and should have arguably beaten them at Ethiad, although Suarez played a big role in this, our players are more than capable of continuing what they were doing.

Last season Sturridge's 21 goals in 29 games is very very good however it was overshadowed by the even more profilific Suarez!

United have an ageing strike force he didn't seem to link, you've lost your experience in defence and have finally strengthened CM. But confidence is huge in football, last season could but a huge dent in the confidence of the players, under Ferguson United could have a bad result but he would deflect from the players, eg ref, not enough extra time etc. This allowed the players to be protected and enabled them to be confident the next time they came onto the pitch, having been around for so long this was engrained into the club. Ferguson leaving has made a huge impact on this and to suggest that it will all be rosey again under Van Gaal is naive, he isn't known for being as forgiving as most mangers and he has quite a strange style. It will be very interesting too see how you cope this season but all your fans seem to be on a high horse because you beat LA galaxy!

wouldn't put herrera in seeing as we don't know how he will adapt to the premier league

I didn't suggest you would struggle I just think for the first few months you may not be getting the results that you would expect which could impact on your final standing. Personally I believe it's a three way battle for 3rd and 4th between Arsenal, United and Liverpool. It's going to be close.

My other concern if I was a United fan would be the experience lost in the back four. Although not all of them took much part in last season, to lose Evra, Vidic and Ferdinand in one go could have an impact. While Liverpool's defence is far from perfect we have a much more attacking mentality so I think it's highlighted less.

I almost agree with the team! On paper though and footy ain't played on paper.

I'm a big fan of Shaw and Rafael, if you can keep him fit, is a good player.

A lot of the LFC signings are a bit of an unknown quantity as well. Markovic is supposed to be very good at football for example but I could not testify to that personally.

Shouldn't you be comparing teams with your rivals Spurs and Everton?

No, they're more traditionally your rivals. Please base your interpretation of 'rivalry' on the teams you have most commonly finished around over the past 5 years

Thanks.

Just mention to them that our new shirt deal is worth more than the current value of their club.
