The one difference is Israel is a government using their military to do it... in the same way many terrible regimes through history used their army to do things...
If something is a terrorist attack or a military one the difference is more semantic than anything. If China used soldiers to do what Al Qaeda did on 9/11 it would be a military attack that just happens to be on a civilian target. If Hamas did exactly what governments do it would be a terrorist attack...
The shocking part is that they aim their attacks at civilians not that they are terrorists so whatever they do is a terrorist attack.

Funny how a lot of these problems seem to date back to then and how Jews had always been better accepted into the Arab world than Europe previous to this event. Its almost as if they are somehow connected... can't quite put my finger on it...

The Israeli's being 'the good guys who only act in self defence' is propaganda. They're not. They've built up a mean streak with deadly consequences.
2 bad guys. One advocates genocide to the point of extermination. The other has lost the humanity that once kept it in check and now carries out attacks that carry collateral damage in the hundreds.
You don't have to pick either side, but if for debate's sake you have to, then your choice is killers of hundreds or a manifesto of complete genocide.
Pick or abstain, but those are the options on the table.

Why don't you guys allow this thread to die a natural death? You'll never convince each other so the protracted arguments resurrected every day are pointless. I think Hamas, their charter and tactics are deplorable, but I think they exist with the popular support of the people because those people in their desperation at their condition see extremism as the only way their voices could be heard against the lifelong siege they've been subjected to. I still don't see how anyone who is not a sociopath or a rabid Islamophobe or totally and unquestioningly brainwashed by Israeli propaganda or a binkered Jew could possibly find Israel's current actions defensible. It's an outrageous disproportionate response to a threat that could have long been resolved with political WILL and skilled diplomacy.

ISIS created by the illegal war of Iraq are not simply targeting none Muslims. They are killing anyone that does not follow it's radical ideology including Muslims. The majority they have killed have been Muslims.
