I thought he looked ok.... ran at his man and generally tried to hit the byline..... was on the wrong side for me tho as he didn't seem to have much of a left foot.

But i thought he did improve us

Sometimes not a bad thing though, having a right-footer playing on the left wing so he can cut inside.

Hopefully a sign of things to come! What's the betting he gets injured soon?!

He started really well but drifted out of it a little 2nd half, whether that was down to match fitness or not I don't know.

He certainly looks to have quality about him though, first touch was excellent, whipped 2 or 3 cracking balls into the box, looked confident on the ball & willing to run at defenders.

Should only get better so very promising!

I thought that crossed well with either foot.

He started brilliantly but Notts County double marked him after half an hour which created space elsewhere.

He is a class well above L1.

Encouraging stuff. Just hope he stays fit.

Definitely need someone that will run at full backs and create. Something we miss when JJ isn't fit.

he looked good and we will cause some problems for the opposition when he and jj are on the flanks at the same time

Marshall is way ahead of JJ. They both have pace but Marshall has two good feet and can cross on either side of the full back. JJ cannot cross, has no left foot and only hits the target one time in ten. I cannot see how JJ is worth a place in the team that started on Saturday.

He is an impact sub, that is all.

Come on, JJ on the left where he can cut in and Marshall on the right where he can cross. That, coupled with Jesus and Semi in the middle would leave the front two with no excuses.

You're the type who never saw anything in Grant Hoult and booed Chris Brunt aren't you Steve?

Marshall is very good at L1 level and will be the difference in the team at present. JJ will complement him by giving the opposition something to think about i.e. which one to mark.

I like the idea of two pacy wingers in the team, even with JJs inconsistency but that would mean leaving out Lines. From what most have said, lines has done well in being the link between midfield and attack. If that is correct, can we afford to leave him out?

With no further additions (hopefully ALF) here's how I'd line up, given a fully fit squad:

Weaver
Buxton Jones Batth Bennett
Marshall Semi Jesus JJ
Lines
Morrisson

Lines looks to have a great delivery from set pieces and with Bennett's long throw, set pieces will be the daddy.
How long is JJ out for anyone?

Prof, assuming the fully fit squad I would have Madine and COG in before Morrison, particularly if a lone striker is used.

Not convinced GM would use this formation, I think he is predominantly a 442 guy.

Forgot about COG. Stick him in there instead of Morrisson

Semi is otsemobor so that could be confusing.

Weaver

Marshall Seme Jesus JJ
Lines
Madine.

COG won't be ready for ages methinks...Squad looks ok, jusy hope Meggo can get them to gel and build some consistency. One more stiker needed - not sure if ALF is the answer...4th Div player at the end of the day and a striker fomr a higher league would be prefereable

Madine is our number one striker.

I worry that anyone would pick Morrison ahead of him, particularly in a 451 because Morrison will only get a handful of goals if he plays all season whereas Madine will get at least 15 & probably 20.

Lines has started well so Saturday's starting eleven will be our first eleven at least until O'Grady is fit. Anyone who has watched Wednesday for the last few years knows that you only get half a dozen decent performances from JJ each season whereas I have seen Marshall five times and he has looked good every time.

I think that JJ will still be important from the bench as his pace causes fear in the opposition.

I just wish we could find a space for Lines in the middle. He looks a much better player at CM.

It worries you that people differ in opinion to yourself?

Stop talking bollox Professor. Madine is first choice by some distance.

I said how i would line up. Me, myself, and I. I'm talking bollox because it's not the same as yours?

I'd go with prof's formation but with JoC as the lone front man.

Anybody who would pick Clinton Morrison over Gary Madine knows nothing about football. Its as simple as that. And yes, you are talking bollox.

Yeh, maybe you're right. There is certainly a massive gulf between the pair
Madine's pulling up trees left right and centre.
