Yes but when you're talking about mentally weak teams.....someone else has to win the match/competition?
That means you simply have to use some relativity in terms of other teams. Mentally weak.....relative to what? The unbreakable mental strength of other teams who have displayed similar mental weakness?
"That means you simply have to use some relativity in terms of other teams. Mentally weak.....relative to what? The unbreakable mental strength of other teams who have displayed similar mental weakness?"
Indeed.
What happens when two mentally-weak teams vie for the title? Does the world explode?!

How many ECs have you won?

Two mentally weak squads vie for the title? The other 18 squads must be woefully underperforming or have even greater mental weakness to allow this to happen
Not at all.
I was just wondering how many ECs you've won.
This exponent of mental strength, who guided Arsenal to so many trophies purely by a steely stance and fibrous determination, I am just wondering if it ever worked against the best Europe had to offer?

My posting history refers – I have been attempting (without success) to extract any factual evidence or verification that supports your view that Arsenal are fundamentally indisciplined, and how events from 2004 have any relevance to the club’s fortunes a decade on.
As yet all you have referenced are isolated incidents from many years ago which are no different to any other PL side.
For the third time, I refer you to the Fair Play League which demonstrates Arsenal’s reputable disciplinary record over recent years.
But why let knowledge and statistics sway your opinion…
He woke up today and thought he had a point and wrote this load of tosh without even looking it up. He will learn next time
Games and titles have slipped away when you were in pole position. I already told you I could not prove that they were all down to fragility in the mind, but that is what they have generally been attributed to.
I could list all the games/seasons in which that is the case, but there would be no "proof" that it was down to a mental weakness. However, given the ill-discipline down the years, and the fact that AW has allowed it to continue, does not sway me from my theory (and that is all it is).
Do I really need to tell an Arsenal fan, who knows those games inside out, the years in which they happened??

1 mentally strong (City) team and 2 mentally weak teams (Chelsea and Liverpool) fought for the title last season.
The season before one mentally strong team (Utd) ran away with it from mentally weak City.
The season before that was a contest in who could be the more mentally weak team. Utd and City were both mentallly weak, thus the balance swung back and forth.
Notice that those teams aren't Arsenal?

Lots of good points one way and then the other, but even I'm not dumb enough to think that anyone has actually produced "proof" one way or the other.
I am certainly not conceding on the evidence furnished this morning,
You're linking ill discipline to mental fragility when DJ has pretty conclusively shown a correlation which is pretty much the exact opposite
given the ill-discipline down the years,
-----
Most notably in the 03-04 season, and also very prominent in 97-98 and 01-02.
"Notice that those teams aren't Arsenal?"
Quoting from earlier: "You have to be in that position to bottle it in the first place"
And all this because Aaron Ramsey picked up a soft, and harsh, red card as the ref struggled to keep his composure in the hostile atmosphere of Istanbul?

"Games and titles have slipped away when you were in pole position. I already told you I could not prove that they were all down to fragility in the mind, but that is what they have generally been attributed to."
So we were strong enough mentally to get into good positions and facked up due to weakness, strong enough to get into good positions and won due to mental strength, AND too weak to get into good positions to win stuff?

If you truly believe that they won the league that year (without the pressure of playing as champions and everyone raising their game for you) based on their mental strength, I don't think we're going to reach a conclusion.
They lost their composure several times in at least two of those seasons. You have merely pointed out the years you won the league. No evidence of character mentioned.
Remember when Villa were mentally strong enough to get into the top four deep into the season, only to see the fragile mindset of Arsenal propel them past the Villains?

Your mental strength is terrible.

Strong enough TECHNICALLY AND FINANCIALLY to get into good positions.
Strong enough TECHNICALLY AND FINANCIALLY to get into good positions and won due to ability, and lack of playing as champions.
AND too weak to get into good positions ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS to win stuff?"
Fixed it

I am not! You haven't evidenced any! You just keep listing the three times you won the PL!!!
If I just listed the 20-odd times you HAVEN'T won it, would it be a valid argument?
