Played centrally on a regular basis Welbeck could easily bag 15 PL goals a season for a mid table club but he's just not clinical enough at the highest level. I would still prefer to keep him as a squad player though.
Importantly Welbeck compliments both Rooney and RVP better than Hernandez which is important if we plan on playing 2 up front.

I think that they might both leave to be honest. Even if they do, we still have a shed load of no.10s and 3 that can play as no.9s in Rooney, RVP and Wilson.

If you can score goals, playing out wide will not hamper you that much.

Indeed. Wilson looks quick
Keane is a natural finisher too though. His development was stunted with a bad injury. It was pretty frustrating actually because he was looking really useful
Time will tell but like you, I do think we may have something special on our hands with Wilson - his finishing is technically brilliant for me and he's reasonably two footed too I think

Wilson will be back-up alongside Powell & Keane. Possiblly even Adnan.
I just think that we are overstocked in that area and if we are to see Wilson develop better than Welbeck has, we need to lose a few players. Otherwise in a few years time we could be having the same discussion about Wilson as we try to make room for the next bright prospect.

Sturridge played on the right for Chelsea and scored just under a goal ever two games over a season. So you're wrong there.

He didn't really think it through GT. Sturridge was the last person I would have used as an example.
If you can score goals, playing out wide will not hamper you that much.
Two certain RM players have scored hatfulls from playing out wide.
