It might not be that LvG wants him gone tbh, if you remember Welbeck wanted to leave under moyes as well because he was sick of being played in the wrong position, LvG will of told him that Rooney + VP are first choice and Welbeck might just want to leave to get first team football

I'd certainly give Wilson some minutes to see how he gets on. His debut was excellent obviously
But to put the cf role and responsibility on his shoulders as first choice now is asking alot (Not that I'm saying he wont be brilliant)
I'd prefer to have another option just in case
