6. Motivation - A player of his quality can only motivate the players around him to up their game.

7. Makes us a more attractive proposition - when players like Hummels see a player of Di Maria's quality joining utd, it will encourage them to think that LVG and Utd are building a major, exciting and succesful project

Another O'shea type of player that we have been craving for a quite sometime now?

Also may push teams back. At the minute teams look at us and see no pace whatsoever so they can push further forward and press us. A player like di Maria with absolute lightning pace may make them think twice. Let's just hope he doesn't get played wingback

The first time you lose your virginity? How many times have you lost it?

What's happened to Mata. He somehow seems to have got worse since he joined you

Never thought I'd read this to compare the arrival of a new signing.

I'd question whether these three are world class " Wazza ,RVP and Mata" level going by the last two games.

Maybe but we have the money and he is a world class player

The same was said of Mata when we signed him

Wasn't a player who fixed our most glaring problems (lack of midfield control and physicality), but who was world class and would help us make a statement of intent....look how that turned out.

I can't help but think Di Maria is something similar. Great player, big statement, but he won't help us control the midfield or keep a clean sheet which are our 2 biggest problems atm

Wayne rooney does not play at a serious world class level

Point three is the main one , when I'm going to shell out £30 to see a game, I'd rather see Di Maria than a water right defensive performance.

As good a player as Mata is, an exciting, unpredictable player he is not. Di Maria will get old Trafford off their seats again.

I think people are over estimating how good Di Maria is.

Iv watched every real game for the past 2 seasons and he only really showed proper consistency last season when he played as a CM/AMC. Prior to that, he was just another Nani, world class on his day but useless on off days.

Even at the World Cup, he was very erratic. He lost the ball over 50 times in the game vs Switzerland.

Maybe all this points to him being a better CM than a winger but what I'm trying to say is, he alone will not change how we play.

Only a fabregas or kroos type CM could've potentially single handedly changed us due to them being able to control games. Di Maria is very much a luxury signing IMO

she sounds like a right old boot.

Did you have to pay, Guv?

I think a lot of people are putting too much expectation on him before he has even joined. You never know how long it will take a player to settle in the PL.

He is a great signing if you sign other players as well, there's time left to do that though and I expect you too.

...........

A stat was put out last week from Real's website that showed that Di Maria only played central in 6 league games. The rest he was on either flank.
