Nice article change.
I still hold little hopes for the season and will see Top 4 as a HUGE success.
lets not forget place for 4th will be fought between spurs, arsenal, pool and us
Who knows really?? Depends how Rojo and Di Maria adjust to the league..
If they can take straight to it, i see Di Maria making a massive impact, just his signing alone will have a positive impact in the dressing room, and on the pitch, his movement and skill can also open up space for likes of Herrera and Mata.
Absolutely fantastic signing!!
Now wheres Vidal Woody????
If we sign Vidal, I will have a woody.
I am sorry but spending near £200m you should have a team going for the title.
Thats what we have always been told anyway.
For money spent, anything less than a good title push is a massive faliure IMO.
For me you should at least get top 4 with theplayers you now have. especially if you add Vidal and Blind
Quadruple and nothing less
We have only ever failed to win either of our first two PL games on three previous occassions
1992/3
1998/9
2007/8

Id play Pearson and Perriera in centre mid before selecting Fletcher and Cleverley again, their performance v Sunderland was unacceptable.
I used to really rate Pearson, hows he getting on?

City spent in total £472.9m before they won the title.

Havent seen much of the U21s this season so far, but Pearson along with a few others really impressed last season, unfortunately the gap between U21s and first team premier league football is so big its hard to tell how they would get on, but as i said, they COULD NOT do any worse than them pair last Sunday.

I've seen Pearson play about 3 times (yeah, probably not enough) but I liken him to Cleverley. He's a very underwhelming passer of the ball but he gets stuck in.

Rothwell is probably the young United midfielder to keep an eye on,personally.

Minimum top 4. As long as that is achieved we can really look to have a first 11 / squad well equipped to challenge for everything under LVG next season. However if Vidal and Blind are signed in the next 7 days then the title has to be the target this season.
Next season maybe add the likes of Hummels and Strootman to the squad and we should realistically be able to challenge hard for everything CL included.

Like when you finished 6th a few years back?
Everyone knows that transitions can take a while....
I think we will be battling for fourth, this year.... If Vidal were to sign, i'd perhaps revise that.

Totally agree, there were alot of 'bad' performances. But from two centre mids, who have been at Utd a very long time now (feel bad for Fletch coz of his illness and all), not being able to complete simple 10 yard passes, first touch taking the ball about 5 yards away from there feet, this is basic basic sunday league stuff. Smalling was up there with that aswell, truly atrocious footballing performances for any professional to be making.
4th has to be the minimum expectation with so much spent, surely?
We finished 7th last season, there is no chance we are finishing first, even if we signed Ronaldo.
The next month or two can be written off and by that point we have to face the big boys.
