the thing is I look at welbeck and I see sturridge 3 years ago.

people weren't sure, he split opinions, lots didn't want him, some thought he was worth a punt.

now look at him.

the main difference is that sturridge is an out and out striker, and welbeck isn't, but in terms of ability welbeck is pretty much at the level sturridge was a few years ago.


I am happy to stick with townsend but I can see why Poch may think he is a good option. and levy will love another young English player with potential high re sale.

IF we go for welbeck I hope its a loan with an option to buy.

More of a fan of his England form than Utd.

I would prefer MS, but Song is a decent back up I think. nice to see we have a strategy in the market. seem to have a clear, sensible first and second choice in all things, that's why we got in Fazio after the Musacchio or whatever his name is deal proved too complicated.

I wouldn't be impressed if we signed Welbeck, Song or J Rod.

Schneiderlin and Benteke. We've got a big enough squad as it is - we should either by for the first XI or not at all IMO.

Sensible signings. We have to cut our cloth accordingly but we are one Top class striker away from being a menacing outfit. Atletico Madrid gave me hope for us.
Hard work and a clinical striker can get you places.

I personally wouldn't be too upset. Under LVG he will not be nurtured just like he wasn't with Moyes but was under SAF he was pretty awesome. Poch is great at helping young talent progress as well
