To be fair Brenda said we would struggle to get awC players without the champions league

Turns out we couldn't keep Welbeck or cleverly

Damn what a waste

I think he'll do really well there. Sad to see him go.

That bit about their magnificent midfielders slotting balls through, is that a dig at our midfielders, I wonder?

Don't really care how he does all that much as he's no longer our player. But when he played for us I just didn't feel like he offered enough in an attacking sense and wherever he plays at Arsenal, I don't expect as much from him as some others seem to. That's perfectly natural though, as others thought more of him in a United shirt than I did too.

Always good to see an academy product doing well but gotta say, I really hope he doesn't start smashing them in for Arsenal this season

At the end of the day, he's now a gooner

Will be strange seeing him play and score goals for them, sad we couldn't keep him.

Liverpool top 3 gave me a chuckle though.

==========
He was right. You struggled.

Good honest interview. Good luck to the lad. Unfortunately for him there was just too much competition for the striker role at United so a move to Arsenal is the best place for him to progress as a player. I don't think we can knock him for that.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me

[Chorus:]
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

Wilson would be lucky to get a sniff, he is behind 3 class players.

What i've noticed about players leaving United is that one of the first things they do is criticize the midfield. Scholes, Giggs and Neville have all been outspoken about our lack of quality there recently.

begs the question, why has it not been sorted out years ago?

Good article apart from LFC finishing in the top 3, i don't think that will happen, 4th,5th or 6th for them.

Welbeck going is a blessing because he was never going to cut it. At least now, Wilson is given a chance.

Spoken like someone who didn't see Danny in the reserves. Quite a bit better than Wilson (Who I also rate).

Wilson will be the next to leave, he is 3 world class strikers in front of him. Very, very little chance he will get a look in, especially with CC gone.

Think the comments, although accurate, need to be taken with a pinch of salt - this is a new player giving his first interview. What's he going to say? "with the magnificent, not as good as Scholes but still good, players in midfield slotting balls through..."

If you could turn back time.
If you could find a way.
Would you give back Van Persie and still have Welbeck?

Welbeck left for CL footy.

Very difficult question.... RvP has his qualities, and gave us a title the season before last. Would Welbeck and Rooney have combined to win that title? We don't know. Would RvP have gone to City and helped them win the title? We don't know. Would Welbeck, having played as striker for the past 2 seasons mastered composure in front of goal? We don't know.

What I do know is that I'm very, very sad to see Welbeck leave though.

No because we would not have won the league.

How do you know that Mystic Meg?

And is one (more) title worth losing a potentially brilliant, Manchester-born striker who still has 10 years in him?

I don't think it was a dig at our midfield, he's just suggesting that Arsenal's style of play is more suited to him, which it is.

It's amazing how sentimentality clouds actual belief. An honest question, would Welbeck make it into the top 20 strikers in the world, scratch that, top 50? If not, why should he lead our line?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We won't know until he has a couple of season played solely as a striker; which he will get under Arsene.

I think he will become a fantastic player and we will regret letting him go in 2 or 3 years when Rooney, RVP and Falcao are retired/past it.
