Link? I can't find anything from Chapman on it.

All I have found is that the motto was in use from 1949 officially, with the first mention in 1913. Nothing on Chapman.

If you use Arsenal's motto, it describes how we try to do things, by having a stable, harmonious base
Oh fack off and go cry me a river you waste of space
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What? It actually does. Arsenal relies on longterm stability to produce successful periods. From what Chapman did at the club (carried on by his successors) to George Graham and Wenger. Our most successful periods are caused by greater stability. Unlike a chop and change club such as Tottenham.

It's not that it's the only way to do things, it's that it's the way we do things. That's why it's our motto.
other pet hates, sides nicking our songs and passing it off as their own.
its a grand old team to play for - nicked by everton
glory glory Tottenham hotspur - nicked by man u.
then on the other side we did nick oh when the spurs
Interesting Gazza. Redknapp is mates with pretty much all the journos
We're only 4 games in though. How do you assess whether the time is right or not for journos to be criticising Harry. Maybe it has something to do with Fernandes giving Redknapp full backing before the season started and how he want stability.
It's much easier for the papers to stir up trouble over at Newcastle right now between Ashley, Pardew and the Fans.

Yeah I agree, we just have had a lot of managers and won a lot. Now we got Jose back I think we will have a stable era.
A personal pet hate of mine is the general notion that most forms of cheating are just accepted parts of the game but others (notably diving) are abhorrent stains on the game, without any attempt to fully explain the inconsistency.
==================================
Got to agree with this, and specifically when commentators use phrases like "he used all his experience there" as a euphemism for cheating. The fact is the cynical fouls, timewasting and similar can all be considered levels of cheating, even if they're a bit blunter and less deceptive than diving.
Time wasting in the first half
I really hate the cliche that you hear when a striker scores a close range goal before the defenders get to him - when the commentator says 'he reacts quickest'
That really grinds my gears!
99% of the time its simply because the striker is lucky enough to have the ball fall to him and no other reason.

don't flatter yourself !
half your fans want Wenger out as soon as you lose a game, and yet he has done tremendously well to reach the champions league 17 years running
and your theory isn't necessarily correct. Chelsea chop and change all the time and it hasn't done them any harm
I hate diving and play acting, but what pïsses me off even more is when pundits like Shearer call it clever play.

Also the favouritism towards Redknapp is understandable. He is nice, friendly and open to journalists and QPR/Tony Fernandes have reputations of being nice to the media as well. Why wouldn't journalists look more favourably on a man/club who makes their job easier? A lot of managers and clubs are openly hostile to journalists and do everything they can to make their jobs and lives hard/make them villains (even when they print the truth), it is inevitable there would be more desire to criticise them first.

Sadly this is what it's come to.
Managers trying to suck off the likes of Chris Kamara to gain popularity.
Even Mourinho texted the plonker on the Goals show last Sunday, to send his best to the TV guest Pulis.
Pathetic!

That sort of thing is always going to make it infinitely harder for journalists to be impartial and not dislike Chelsea.

Journos are scared of Mourinho and very kind to Chelsea this time round.
A banning from Chelsea would probably cost them their jobs.
And they should not be calling him Josay either - it should be Mr.Mourinho or Sir.
Diving definitely but gotten kinda used to it.
