Yeh - I now go to about half of the home games and a handful of away games, although it varies.

I'm sorry, but that's got good enough.

He played 4 days later in an International match.

Perhaps you can talk me through how your knee ligaments can be 'destroyed', yet you play two games in the next 7 days?

Or perhaps you'd like to focus on how he retired from football because of an injury to the opposite knee to the one Keane fouled.

Please, feel free to explain either of these.

Because at the moment, you come across as someone who just can't admit when he's completely and utterly wrong.

All you have are the words of the guy that dislikes Keane and was being paid for an interview, but the Mail I believe.

And by the way, I know plenty of people who don't go to many / any games.

It's sometimes a case of money, other times spending time with family.

Why does that make them plastic?

I didn't see a huge amount of the second half

---

Me neither. Turned it off a 3-3 because I knew we were going to lose.

I think everyone outside of Manchester United thinks Keane ended his career and that tackle certainly didn't do him any good.

It was a disgraceful tackle and whether it was the defining reason behind his retirement, it certainly contributed.

Plastic fans are those that never/rarely go to games over periods of several years.

I don't really care what you think, or whatever people think.

The facts show that your original and subsequent comments are a load of rubbish.

You know that, but you're not prepared to admit it.

It was a disgraceful tackle, yes. But when people try to sensationalise it's impact - as you have done and Haaland himself did - it makes them sound stupid.

On the plastic fans point - how old are you?

I don't mean that as an insult, just wondered if you're of the age to have children.

Let's see how you cope when you have kids and a mortgage, if your monthly budget is tight.

Ridiculous to insult fans who would love to be there but can't be.

Winston... the irony has been confirmed by you.

You slate vardy for being thuggish for a over zealous shoulder barge yet defend keane for ending a fellow professionals career. Have you read his autobiography?? He admits all he wanted to do was hurt him and end his career.
Yeh clearly im the one with the stupid thought process.

"You slate vardy for being thuggish for a over zealous shoulder barge"

Can you show me where I've done that, please?

"yet defend keane for ending a fellow professionals career"

He didn't end his career, and I haven't defended him once.

I suggest you learn how to read before commenting again, as you're making a prat of yourself at the moment.

Who says that no one likes United fans got nothing to do with their arrogance and entitlement to always win even when they are playing like a team of multimillionaires who dont know each other.

It was a penalty the Ref gave it, the ball did not go our the linesman did not flag and they are the only to opinions that count and have a look at the table it does not lie.

To be fair RAP, in this one, he's right.

---------------------

I second that. Winston is speaking factually in this thread. Others are going off preconceptions, which are incorrect. And for that reason, Rap - you're attacking the wrong person here.

What Keane did wasn't good - we all know and accept that, and for that reason it should be (and has been) criticised. But let's not turn the Keane-Haaland incident into something that it simply is not.

I'm 38, have two children and went to my first game in 1980, missing only three home games up until the age of 17, when I started playing senior football. I've been to over 1000 games but live in Australia now so obviously don't get to many anymore.

I've put in the hard yards over the last 34 years (when I was single and didn't have children) so I can happily consider myself to be a proper fan.

We all know about economic restraints and for those that used to go but can't anymore that's fair enough, I have no issue with that.

However, those that have never been to games don't understand because the passion inside and outside a stadium is totally different. Until a fan has experienced that regularly, they're a plastic as far as I'm concerned.

How that clarifies it 👍

^ hope that clarifies it.

And yes Keane did admit that he wanted to hurt him so I don't think there's really much argument to be fair.

That person is filtered - I assume it's yet another abusive, off topic post from that small group of Liverpool fans.

But of course, it'll all be my fault that they choose to behave like that.

Who else's fault could it be?

I think you can give greater credit to the fans that do make the effort, and I think you can give their opinions greater respect.

But personally, I'm not in the habit of insulting people just because they don't go to games.

People are entitled to support who they like, and in the days of televised football, it's natural that some people will follow a side but not go to games, for whatever reason.

"And yes Keane did admit that he wanted to hurt him so I don't think there's really much argument to be fair"

First of all, you claimed Keane broke Haaland's leg. You were wrong.

Then, you claimed Keane ended Haaland's career. You were wrong.

You have also claimed Keane destroyed Haaland's knee ligaments. You were wrong.

If you had have claimed that Keane admitted that he wanted to hurt Haaland, then I'd have agreed with you.

But that's not what you said - so it's no use trying to change it now. It's all there in black and white - perhaps you should just have accepted your error and moved on.

posted on 23/9/14

I was wrong about him breaking his leg as I've already acknowledged but I'm not buying that he didn't end his career and that challenge would not have done his ligaments any good whatsoever so as far as I'm concerned he ended his career.

You're entitled to your opinion of course and I respect it but I won't be swayed from mine.

I give full credit to anyone that goes to games whoever they support 👍

"but I'm not buying that he didn't end his career"

I'm afraid you can't hide behind your opinion here.

If I said that in my opinion, the earth is flat, would you accept it?

He played twice in seven days and retired due to an injury in his other knee.

That fundamentally proves you wrong.

The fact that you won't admit it is really quite embarrassing.
