Poch will need 2 or 3 transfer windows to get the players he wants to play the way he wants.

Yes it was disappointing to give away a silly goal last night but poch can't be blamed for vlad being a c ock but we got a draw against a good side.

Should be a good game on Sunday and let's hope we can get a win

I really rate poch but I was shocked that he didn't bring in more players that suited his style of play. Southampton weren't dull to watch. They played high tempo, high pressing passing football. I simply don't think you can do that with Lamela, Eriksen, Dembele, Bentelab. Even Ade doesn't really suit that as he's so in and out. Last year he had Rodriguez, lallana, morgan s, jack cork, Steven Davis... Whilst not world beaters, they are mobile and play with high energy with and without the ball. I don't know if Levy tightened the purse strings because of your stadium but he simply doesn't have the players he needs to play his way of playing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lamela is very had working and tenacious in the tackle.

Bentaleb is also a young energetic player and perfectly suited to the pressing game. Demeble is equally as capable.

Eriksen needs to work harder and may be the demands being put on him to do is is was has caused his very slow start to the season.

Every player is capable of it, its just getting them in the right mindset and that is what takes time with some players....and until everyone is on board the pressing game fails.

Plus, pressing takes extreme fitness and i dont think we are there yet either.

Which is why he needs more transfer windows to bring in players that will suit that style.

Levy must be patient and back poch in the players he wants to bring in

Greatteams....LFC can forget the pressing while while they have Balotelli lumbering around up front. He was shocking the other night.

I also think it was a case of not getting who he wanted - Morgan S & J-Rod from Saints, and not because Levy is being tight but that Saints suddenly stopped selling. Stambouli was a cheap stop-gap signing and Chadli has had his chance and taken it

I agree with the OP. Went last night and saw a pretty abysmal display to be honest.

But much is said about managers and Poch will do this that and the other, and it only needs time for players to adapt to his style. Rubbish.

We play the game we are capable of and what the other team allow us to play. For those that set to defend we can play a high line attacking game, for those that are a bit more adventurous or, dare I say it, have better quality in the team, then we have to defend for much of the game. And last night we were pretty awful at defending for much of the game.

I change my mind as often as the wind on the effect a manager can have on a team. All the so called top managers, Jose, LVG, Pellegini et al, have all spent huge amounts of money in transfers and wages to attract the top players With a level playing field would any of them stand out?

You could say Pulis did well last season, but it is a whole different ball game managing a minor club than one of the elite. Poch did well at Southampton but that was Southampton an unfancied team who are treated differently by all other teams to how Arsenal or Manchester City are played.

Poch is now at Tottenham and although many of us are dissatisfied with our performances and cannot see the present crop of players achieving much, to most of the league we are a top scalp and there to be taken. How can West Ham have such an awful season yet beat us three times? How can Man City beat a top four team one week and lose to a bottom half team the following week?

I do not know what the answer is but do not hold your breath waiting for this team of players and this manager to start achieving anytime soon.

Yes it was good under Harry but we had a different team then. They, for the most part have departed. And yes, we reached the quarter finals of the Champions League, but largely down to one player, the one true world class player we have had on our books. And even then it was probably because we were underestimated by the other teams.

Will always love my Spurs but I am pretty fed up at the moment. I can deal with us not being a team not challenging for top 4 (as we have in recent years) but being boring is just not on.

maybe they are taking after you, because you are one boring

anyway, onto the article. we achieved absolutely nothing of note under redknapp. we played good football, sometimes, but still had loads of spankings and loads of games where we did our normal lose 1-0 at home to wigan type result.

with the players we had it was a poor show of redknapp to not bring us a trophy.

he did well overall, but glad hes gone and definitely don't want him back

I haven't seen Lamela working hard once. He certainly doesn't get himself around the pitch and press with any kind of energy. When in possession, there is no pace. These things are facts.

-----

just because you state something as a fact, doesn't mean its true. infact this is the perfect example of a "fact" that is actually not a fact at all, and tells the rest of us that either haven't watched him this season, or you haven't got a clue what you are talking about

greatteams. you said that lamela hasn't worked hard once this season. that proves you haven't watched any games, or you don't know what you are talking about.

oh so you want redknapp back do you? you faacking mug. what do you think redknapp will do with paulinho ? turn him into messi? you faaacking clown.

redknapp had at his disposal some unreal players... and he won nothing. those are facts. cannot be disputed. the players were so good that the best two got picked up by the biggest club in the world for huge fees.....

that is why we are not as good/exciting as we were.

btw I would MUCH rather have Poch at spurs right now then redknapp at spurs right now.

you didn't see you haven't seen him do that.. you say he doesn't.. which proves my point. either you haven't watched him, or you don't have a clue... which is it?

We never played excited football in the Europa under redknapp

___

First victory against Arsenal for years.

First away victory at Arsenal for decades.

Decent home results against the other traditional top 4 sides.

Finishing in the Champions League for the first time ever.

Quarter final of the Champions League in our first ever entry.

Beating Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Overtaking Liverpool.

Runners up League Cup (on penalties)

There is no need to rewrite history Chronic . If none of things impress you, well fine, but don't expect anything nearly as good to happen again for a very long time.

that's a different issue. are you not even bright enough to stay on topic?

in fact in my previous post I said that we weren't as good or as exciting.... but you just ignored that did you?

Lamela has been one of our few attackers who seems to suit a high pressing game.
