We've had loads of injuries to defenders.
Arsenal's problem is ridiculous, though. It happens every season all across the squad.
We just have a defensive injury crisis every season.
So actually, if Jones, Smalling, Rojo and Evans are your 4 first team centre halves, which I assume they are, they haven't all been missing in any game at all
----------------------------------
Rojo is primarily a LB. Jones, Smalling, Evans, and Blackett are our 4 CBs in my opinion. Although this can all be up for debate as we haven't seen much of our full strength defense so far.
I will admit that Uniteds injury problems have been worse than ours so far this season, but we have had plenty of our own.
For Isle of Manc to suggest Sturridge was only injury was just plain ridiculous. All teams get injuries, it's how you prepare for them that is decisive.

Agreed. "not particularly helpful" is a nice way to put it, its actually damn annoying that every single problem at the club people instantly pair it to thier Wenger out agenda. Ffs cant you have a proper discussion without this constant nonsense all year round, just stop. He is not being sacked his season we all know that so give it a rest. Reminds me of dailymail readers blaming everything that goes wrong in this country on foreigners because of their immigration agenda! Try to use a bit of creative thinkng for once
None of us have any idea why these injuries keeps happening, the manager could have a big influence on it, the manager could have absolutely no influence whatsoever: the truth is we know fack all. All we know is it needs to be sorted asap because its become an absolute joke.

Nobody is saying you haven't had a lot of injuries to defenders, but the fact you have so few proven senior defenders (proven for Man Utd) is the fault of the board and/or manager.
Other teams could have as many defensive injuries as you have had and not feel quite the same affect.
Just like Man City could have their 'Sturridge', Aguero, injured a lot, and it doesn't really affect them because of their depth in attack.
It affects us because we don't have any other proven strikers (for Liverpool). Borini has never done it for Liverpool, and Lambert and Balotelli are both new to us if not new to the league (irrespective of whether you rate them or not).
You have been unlucky to get Smalling, Jones and Evans all injured because they are your senior centre halves, no doubt about that.
We have been unlucky to get Flanagan, Allen and Sturridge all injured at the same time, at the start of a season when we are having to incorporate so many new players.
Neither set of injuries can excuse results nor performances for either club, but they make it more difficult to perform well and thus get results.
Arsenal, while they have the most injuries, are used to it with the same manager and more or less the same players season after season. They are experienced in dealing with it.

The reason for injuries is more likely because Wenger doesn't train the players hard enough. So far every player who has left us has commented on how intensive training is compared to Arsenal. Add the fact that players are still not up to snuff after the world cup but Wenger continues to play them because of the paucity of the squad is a recipe for disaster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Off top of my head
Nasri- currently out with long term injury
Sagna - currently injured
van persie - injured most of last season
Besides how can overplaying them be an issue in facking october ffs. The players are averaging a game a week, how delicate must we treat these athletes? What about the business end of the season when we play twice a week regularly?
righteous, I think that's fair.
I don't think anybody said things would be different if it weren't for injuries.
"Other teams could have as many defensive injuries as you have had and not feel quite the same affect"
I don't believe that's true at all though. I'd like to see Chelsea lineup without Cahill, Terry, and Ivanovic to pick from. Or play a game without fullbacks

In my opinion our squad construction is very poor. We are strong in center midfield and specifically box-to-box type players and weak in squad depth in many other areas. The reason why I believe this is so is another discussion. However I think this leads to less intensive training methods. We have always done light training in the Wenger era. That was OK when our players were very physically powerful. Not today. Now looking back one thing that Wenger has always done is actually rely on a small core. He doesn't actually rotate very often preferring to stick with a winning team. So players who have also played a lot in the world cup and also have had light pre-season are not in optimum physical condition. One example where this is very evident is the Kos/Mert partnership. Last season Kos was fast enough to cover for Mert's obvious deficiency. He has been unable to do it this season. Mert is slower and Kos is slower.
I suspect the next player most vulnerable to injury is Mert. They are not peak condition that is required against very good teams and we have played a lot of them early in the season.
Probably gone into hiding after being abused left right and centre by every Media outlet and Arsenal fan in the country.
Not saying he shouldn't take some flack for his underwhelming performances. But the abuse he has taken given the fact he has been stuck out left with no support or cover is pretty harsh.
Hope we buy a LW in Jan, Wilshire gets sold and Ozil comes back fighting for the No.10 Role.
If we get shot of Wenger this will likely happen anyway!
Alexis prefers the left wing.
They'll all come back in time for January, then wenger wont sign anyone. Then come feb 1st they'll start dropping like flies again. Same every season
Kos is rapid, I was wondering who was bombing forward at pace on one of our attacks and it was him.
Followed by a diaganol ball from hazard and a two vs two situation
Kos is rapid, I was wondering who was bombing forward at pace on one of our attacks and it was him.
----------------------
Kos is not as rapid as he was last season. We have been easily done twice this season by a simple long ball over the top. Chelsea and Dortmund. I know Mert is never going to recover when out of position but Kos has been unable to cover in behind him as he did last season and Chambers is not experienced enough to do what Sagna used to do.
Personally I wouldn't have played Ozil and Mert till November. I would have stuck with Chambers/Kos as we had in the last couple of weeks of pre-season. I would still rest Mert as the 3rd CB till Jan, and play Chambers/Kos and bring in Bellerin on the right.
Kos has got an Achilles injury if I remember correctly and we are currently managing him with that lol. He will be next to go down.

So they miss a third of the season because they played an extra three weeks over the summer? Mert didn't even get that much game time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually the entire German team was training all the way up to the final. Granted Mert was not getting much playing time but he wasn't resting with his feet up either.
Although I don't know what thats got to do with Liverpool.
