COutinho was great when he came on, will be great vs tired opposition throughout the season!
Real Madrid ought to lump it down the pitch into the penalty box. They would cause us far more problems that way.

easy 3 points
Coutinho
I nearly had an aneurism at the end there, but somehow we won.
Horrible performance though. Skrtel and Lovren were bullied like little goals and Mario, well, I'm getting tired of pointing out the obvious to those who choose to defend him. The gamble hasn't worked.
Who ever said the Premier League wasn't the best in the world? Look at the games this weekend, although mistakes from players and referee's have made it even better!
Sterling is wicked.
Why is ballotelli so selfish,.he's not good enough to be as selfish as he is...
Wouldn't have predicted that at HT either, it was drab until the 85th minute
Liverpool will be looking at Pepe and Ramos as their strike partnership on Wednesday.

I like how critical Gerrard is of his team, even after a win. I wish we had a player do that at Arsenal. Very honest and frank and really giving everyone a kick up the backside

I actually put a fair bit of the blame for the Balotelli problem on Rodgers
It's obvious he's never in a million years a lone striker yet he keeps trying to make him one
he needs a partner
The ref gave them almost every 50 50 decision.
Midfield was poor before Coutinho and Allen came on.
We have not sorted out set pieces problem. All the back four were watching the ball for the first goal. Hendo lost his man for the 2nd and then tried to get back by trying to win the ball with his back.
Balo is an awful player. Even Trevor Francis on BeIN Sport said what we have said here that he was not sure Balo would have scored had QPR defenders left the ball for the 2nd and 3rd own goals. Francis was so mad that why Lambert didn't come on for the poor Balo
Same as Palace last year, not pushing out quickly or far enough so when the ball comes back into the area we are so deep, any knock down is almost a certain goal (like Vargas's first).
Set pieces we still can't defend, but on the counter we look dangerous.
he needs a partner
------------
In the meantime, Lambert has to start.
Balo has been shocking. His performances haven't merited starting with or without a partner.
Given his opportunity would he pass and make the right runs for Strurridge consistently?
I've not seen much from him in the EPL to suggest that he would. Did he do this for Milan? I know he scored goals and penalties for them, but what was his link up play like.
All I'm seeing a player who is an affront to a red shirt and the team ethic.
Can't disagree that Balo is looking a failed gamble at the moment.
I do think his confidence is low because he hasn't scored a Prem goal for ages, but he clearly isn't doing anywhere near enough.
Lambert needs a run in the side IMO now.
Lambert will start against Madrid. Hopefully he can do to them what Zamora did to us.
what we really need is Sturridge back and Lambert and Balo fighting for the spot as his partner
