I don't think they were within reason to ban him as there was no evidence other than one man's word who changed his story a few times and the other one denied it.

they wanted/needed to get tough on racism and found their high profile case. IMO the case wasn't good enough to eliminate doubt. They needed a second person hearing it or video/audio to back it up then they would have. They didn't.

It's a bad precedent.

"What language was this conversation supposedly in, again?"

the language of Uruguay, not to be confused with the language of Spain.

So, not Spanish then, as the idiot suggested?

depends on how pedantic/specific you want to get

Canadians and Scots both speak English, but there are differences

Struggling to find an English insult that wouldn't be offensive in Scottish or vice-versa.

Maybe "Haggis eating, caber thrower" wouldn't go down well in Scotland, but I can't imagine many English people getting offended. So maybe I can think of one.

Come on VC, this is simple stuff. If you don't understand just leave this topic alone. Good boy.

No

The evidence was the fact Suarez admitted references his skin colour

It isn't allowed in any context

we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one

As pedantic and specific as you want to be stupid, in regards to Nibbles and his despicable acts.

Evra saw an opportunity to get suarez banned for a while

What other reason could he have for saying suarez called him that ten times?

In any case Suarez now plays for Barcelona and I don't know who Evra plays for.

Either way they're not part of our respective clubs and were probably both responsible for this horrible episode.

You are the one who didn't understand, hence this question to something that was perfectly understandable:

'So you're implying that Suarez has racist views now?'

Which I quite clearly wasn't, despite me using some very short words due to you not being the sharpest blade in the Gillette factory.

Do you really think that? And in the event that you are that stupid, and I am going to bet that you are, don't you think Nibbles was a bit stupid for racially abusing Evra, if that were the case?

posted on 27/10/14

the dullest blade in the Gillette factory is still razor sharp

not sure you really thought that one through megabrain

posted on 27/10/14

He surely didn't Kaisers.

As Ji sung explained its not offensive in Spanish.

Suarez didn't think he was racially abusing Evra.

Not a hard concept really, even the fake Vidicshin would understand.

posted on 27/10/14

Whereas Juan Kerr who lives in Spain said it could be offensive

I was going to say if they only had video and lip readers could sort it for us, but this vid completely debunks the art of lip reading

Kaisers

Give it up. Suarez admitted what he said to the FA. Its why they banned him. We just can't have little Uruguayan oiks running around making racist comments. It will not do.

Most of your fans have now accepted what a despicable little man Nibbles is. Just a few of you now clinging on.

Mex - in the same way you wouldn't call a coward down here 'yellow'.

You don't call somebody black. It's not acceptable. Whereas referring to someone's 'yellow streak' or perhaps alluding to a 'black night' is.

Without the pronoun it is most definitely regarded as a racial insult.

But, as VC has pointed out, attitudes in Spain are not the same. You can be regarded as a fascist, racist, sexist, etc but not many will get into your face about your beliefs.
