Thanks MUDD for the thread and including information about the timings of the live TV coverage. The TV timings are very helpful for fans of Sebastian Vettel who don't seem to know anything about F1 and not even where to find out when a race starts.

Button to win from pole to throw up one giant middle finger to Ron Dennis for forcing McLaren's one remaining shred of credibility out of F1.

without a doubt button is one of the nice guys but with mclaren in transition the chance to sign the best current driver in F1 in alonso was something they had to do when the opportunity presented itself if they are going to be competitive in the next couple of seasons -

As decent a driver as button is he is no alonso and in all likelyhood is not the driver to take rons glee factory to the next level --
-------- a point dennis and honda were probably acutely aware of --
------------- as the quote goes ( the godfather i think )
----------- nothing personal just business

Not convinced that Alonso took Ferrari to the next level so remain unconvinced he'll do so at McLaren either. However, at least he doesn't have to compete with Hamilton this time around

put yourself in the position of the team owners , honda ,sponsers , engineers , mechanics , team members ,

---------- who would they rather have in the team , the best current driver in F1 or button ( no disrespect to button )

The best driver imo is at Mercedes, but somehow I don't see us agreeing on that

I'd actually say that Button is a better driver than Alonso as he can work with a competitive teammate without throwing a tantrum that a 3-year-old would be embarrassed about.

doubt very much if team owners , sponsers , honda , and the like are particularly bothered about whatever little frailty of personality the drivers might have , if that were the case they would"nt employ any drivers and f1 would die -
------------- think they may be a little more interested in what a driver can do behind the wheel

I'd say that I think Alonso & Button would be a stronger line up than Alonso & Magnussen.

But that's just my personal opinion, and I could understand that that a) they may not wish to have 2 older drivers, and b) that Magnussen fits the number 2 driver position

Alonso would not like Button as a team mate. He will not be able to bully him
