The anti-Chronic is a tried and tested strategy but it might not be suitable against Chelsea. At Chelsea you might be wanting to play with 5 in midfield. Some variation of the full-chronic method. Turgid football but a draw at the end of it, like at Arsenal earlier.

Saves us getting bum raped though

WeAre, I struggle to see any evidence that MP is a bigger name than Pulis.

Anyway, not even I would want a manager sacked in his first season in December. He continues to have my support and the support of 99% of us.

I just don't see any evidence he has what it takes long-term.

------

he may not be a bigger name (although he definitely is as he is known outside of the Prem too...), but the style of football and footballer that he can/will attract is much more inline with the way we feel we should play football, than the type of player pulis will attract.

Chelsea are close to unbeatable. Try not to read too much into a loss. The bigger concern is getting thumped by the likes of Liversh,i,t. That is a problem.

No good playing boring defensive football at Chelsea, lets have ago at them and cause them some problems, Tottenham are useless at playing ten behind the ball so why even bother with it

I'm all for having a go at Chelsea but if we go out all attack we will be embarrassed like we have been against Liverpool and City.

We played well at Arsenal and defended well and could have nicked it - Would be more than happy with that at Chelsea.

I think a week ago most people were thinking it was already down to damage limitation. Fast forward a week and people seem to think we can go there and get a win.

Pulis highest position in the prem was 11th, Poch had already bettered that in 1 season with a team that was what only 1 year into the premiership!

Pulis

didn't say we could go they and win or go all out attck but we have to offer something going forward, we are no good at defending for 90 minutes, tried that last time and lost 4-0

That's true

We need a happy medium lol.

Misleading to say the least. Stoke City had no right to be a Premiership team until Pullis established them as one.

In terms of league finish, comparing Palace to Southampton last season is an even worse comparison. Palace were absolutely dead and buried before he arrived. I cannot think of another turnaround so comprehensive. Perhaps Redknapp with Spurs, but truth be told Harry inherited some very good players.

The better comparison would be with Koeman and MP....

RC .. if you think Pullis should be manager then you have no idea of the history of Tottenham Hotspur and how the fans want them to play
___

Like the great free flowing football we are playing under MP?

Or the amazing attacking football with crisp passing we played under AVB?

Anyway, it's a caricature of Pullis. He is a pragmatist and creates a style around the abilities of his players. He had Palace playing some good stuff.

We r is right. We are just not good enough defensively to hold out chelsea although we certainly look a lot stronger without the cr ap we been persisting with all season.

Not misleading its a fact

Pulis had 5 years at Stoke? And only could finish 11th

Mark Hughes takes over and they finish 9th

So surely you'd rather Hughes than pulis then right?

Look, I seriously rate Pullis as a manager.

Doesn't mean I want MP sacked.

He was a terrible choice for manager but you cannot sack a guy so early.

He wasn't a terrible choice at all... In fact he was a very good appointment and the best of the managers that was available!

Pulis is a okay manager for a relegation type team and nothing more

Pulis is hardly a crap manager - wasn't he manager of the year last season? And saving Palace from relegation was very impressive.

Not a fit for Spurs though, imo

Hengy

You really aren't getting this.

By your simplistic way of rating managers, then Avram Grant is an exceptional manager because he finished second with Chelsea. It also means Bryan Clough is an appalling manager because he was relegated with Nottingham Forrest in his last game.

It also means Tim Sherwood is a better manager than MP because we finished ahead of Southampton last season...

You judge a manager based on what they have when they take over, and they have accomplished by the time they leave. Saying Hughes is doing as well as Pullis is ridiculous.

Finally, please unblock me from the match thread

I have been blocked for over a year I think. Cannot even remember why.

Be a good chap
