He also gets you guys playing good football
He really doesn't.
12th, 5th, 16th and 10th. Take out one anomaly season and it's just very mediocre. It's the least that should've been done.
I would say Newcastle are one of the more entertaining teams to watch in the PL on their day. Only saw the highlights but the game yesterday against Everton looked like a quality show. Three goals, end to end stuff and you could've scored more. Hardly what I would call dour.
Plus bearing in mind Ashley's spending (or lack of over recent years) I think Pardew's done a good job. Have a look at this stat: http://transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/transfer-league-table-last-five-seasons.html
Newcastle are actually 17th when it comes to net-spend out of the current PL clubs over the last 5 years. I think that puts his achievements into perspective. He has consistently over-achieved at your club, spectacularly so when he finished 5th.

That's one of my points too. Pardew continually has the rug pulled out from under his feet and is hung out to dry by Ashely who uses him as his own personal bulletproof shield. Ashely must be licking his lips at the prospect of another pay day with Palace paying compensation for a manager. It wouldn't surprise me to see Newcastle implode completely if Pardew goes. Careful what you wish for.

Would still say though that Pardew still has a young squad with real talent at Newcastle. Wouldn't give him a cat in hell's chance of making the top 6 with Palace, with Newcastle he had a shot.

best day ever
Pulis is definitely the best man for the job.
He'd sort their defence out, that's for sure.
Someone forrin sick of these bloody English
Sherwood
Miss him in the premier league.
I miss his honesty. He would bash Newcastle players' heads together.
His interviews were amazing.
It seems bizarre to me. I can understand Pardew wanting to leave Newcastle if he feels slightly mistreated by Ashley or the fans in the past. And I can understand Newcastle agreeing to let him go (for a fee no less!) seeing as they were probably looking for an excuse to fire him (recently if not actually for the past few weeks). But why would Crystal Palace possibly want Pardew as their manager - never mind agree to pay compensation for him? Admittedly he is better than Warnock (who isn't?), but he is still not in the same class as Pulis.
Well Palace are pretty desperate at this point, in fact it was no doubt their desperation which led to the appointment of Warnock in the first place. Any improvement on Warnock would have to be judged as a success.
As to Pardew, I really don't share this lily-livered attitude. Football management's not for softies. An ambitious football manager shouldn't be stepping 10pts and 9 places down the league because some fans weren't very nice to him, other managers have had to put up with much worse. Anyone remember Steve Kean at Blackburn? Death threats, personal attacks and all sorts. And what about poor Chris Hughton being on the receiving end of crowd missiles last season. Still they kept going until the bitter end. They didn't walk away (even though Kean probably should've done). Pardew's being a bit soft here if these are his reasons for going.
Apparently it has been suggested that the Newcastle 'fans' have caused distress to his family, maybe it's just the continual barracking.
If you add that to the fact that Mike Ashley is a c&ck and Pardew is comparatively (to other Premiership managers) poorly paid and Newcastle fans have in-built delusions of grandeur is it really any surprise ?
Colo player manager it seems.
I reckon colo and jonas as his assistant would be gr8
