This. I love Gerrard but he's woefully out of form this season and after producing arguably our best performance of the season against Swansea, I'm not sure why Rodgers changed it. Especially with how good Henderson was in the middle.

The second one, sure. it hit him in the end, and it doesn't really matter if it's deliberate or not. THe first him the guy in the face though awful decision.
Swansea game was about short crisp passing and movement of in midfield.
With Gerrard that doesn't happen and it really annoys me.
I also think referees should be giving penalties for pushes in the back in the area but that didn't happen.

Agree. No time for misty-eyed sentimentality, we have to select players to win not fulfil a players 'legend' status.
I don't think it's Gerrard's fault the strikers can't score goals or the creative players behind the strikers can't provide or even chip in. Lallana was able to do that in the last game but nobody this one.

There are certain players who are always nominated for prizes - deservedly or not. Remember Giggs winning it one season and undeservedly. Gerrard was pretty terrible in the spring IMO

I thought Gerrard shouldn't play the Swansea game as tactically we would be better without him. BR thought so too. However he was certainly suited to this game on paper. It just didn't pan out that way, although it just so happened he got two goals.
Thing is with Gerrard is he doesn't suit the 3-4-3 system. His better performances this year have come from playing behind the striker in the 4-2-3-1 but we simply don't score enough goals with that system ( at least not until is Sturridge is back anyway).
