It's a depressing and sad truth, but the media will get far more viewers for reporting on a unique event closer to home than they would with a car bombing in the middle east which really has no effect on us.
-----------------------------------------
Not really true. The terrorist attacks on Australia, which killed 2 people, received a lot more coverage than the terrorist attack on Pakistan, which killed over a hundred children.
The neither events had anything to do with the west and both were well away from any western regions.
It's a sad truth that in the west the life of a White person is valued more than the life of a black/brown.
Kung Fu - I kind of get what you are saying, but it shocks me that anyone would be surprised by this from the mainstream British media.
I don't get annoyed by news channels and the like because i don't watch them.
TV news is based on fear and celebrity - A terrorist attack happening just across the water is much more valuable to them than a car bombing in the middle east.
It's not right, but don't be shocked by it.

'The sad truth' - It's not a truth, you've made a gross generalisation about an entire region of the world.
You are by association levelling that claim at me, which is fúcking rude.
Couldn't give a fúck if it was rude. I'm here to state facts and the truth, Dot. If that offends you then boo-fúcking-hoo.

Did I just walk into the 18th Century?
Can you only be black/brown to be a muslim??? I thought the thread was regarding that a muslim would never kill another muslim(erm that is slightly wide of the mark) not about the colour of a persons skin
Anybody with any basic knowledge of the religion will know that this is not permissible.

Since when do Islamic extremists give a feck about what is permissible? I'm not saying this applies to this incident but trying to make out that terrorists have some sort of code of honour is just plain wrong.
Of course there will be more coverage of the killing of innocents by terrorists virtually on our own doorstep. How much press coverage do you think the Paris incident will get in Yemen today by comparison? Think about it...
Frankly, I don't like the racist tone of your article. If you have something to say then try it without the snide and sarcastic anti-UK remarks.

Opinion?! Sky News gave a whole 3 day coverage of the Australian incident, yet barely half an hours worth on the day after the Pakistan incident.

That's not truth, that's bigotry and delusion.

How many terrorist incidents in Pakistan in 2014? And how many in Australia?
The rare occurrence will always get more media coverage than the event that's already happened 11 times that year.

Oh but i see. Because it happens a lot, it's somehow OK. That "those" people are used to it, and so it doesn't really effect them that much, right?
