I wonder what's with the sudden surge of Dublin Villains?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Villa have always been a fairly well supported club in Ireland, United and Liverpool being the most supported with Arsenal after that.
It's really due to the number of Irish players who have represented these clubs over the years, that's the main reason for an Irish fan following an English club.
Like Villa had Paul McGrath and Steve Staunton playing for them, 2 ROI legends, Staunton and McGrath also played for Liverpool and united so you can begin to see the trend. Liam Brady for Arsenal etc.
I follow Liverpool mainly due to Ronnie Whelan who is from Dublin, not too far from where I grew up, he played for Ireland and Liverpool so I was drawn to Liverpool.
Also, just to point out, a football jersey looks awful on adults, goign to a game or playing football / gym then it's OK but to see a full grown man in jeans and a jersey just looks awful. I used to buy jerseys every year in my early 20's but not bought one for years now, never wear them to games, just my scarf and maybe a hat if it's winter. (no pants or anything just a hat and scarf)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your in-depth analysis
I guess it makes sense then.

I have supported my club for 60 years, never brought a shirt in my life. Buying a shirt in my opinion does equate to being a good supporter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you're not a good fan...........for 60 years, thanks for that.
But confession isn't something to be taken on an anonymous forum. You have to go to the Church and speak to Paedo Pete the Priest.
The last shirt I bought was when we were Umbro and the first kit they did for us, I don't like the new ones at all. My son has it though and I don't think sports direct even do junior city kits, at least not in the shop.
Did it have any foreign kits on there and their sales? They've got a lot of European kits in the one bear me.

I don't know what pop tarts are. Assuming some sort of cereal.
However, my main issue is how weird it is to see (presumably) grown men discussing shirt sales from Sports Direct. Who actually cares?

This is great question in reality. Its awfully boring and only fuel for shallow wumming and slightly racist. Who cares where shirt sales come from? Is buying shirts within your own city make you better? If anything thats small mentality with clubs often hoping for a global reach.

Everything in sports direct is way too big, it's like Mike Ashley designed it for himself. Not been in since he bought Rangers though, and never will.
