Was it really 'some' Noble? Or one, for a laugh, or maybe none and someone made it up? All seems very unlikely to me.
I'm certainly not 'very young' Harlequin, so I guess I just haven't a clue. I obviously don't mix in the right groups, because most of the Chelsea fans I've known over the years don't shout obcenities at me just for being an Arsenal fan, not seriously anyway.
To be honest, I think actually 'hating' another club/club's fans is a fairly new thing (and probably just on anonymous sites like this too) - unless you're actually a yob, which ~99% of people aren't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
HenrysCat I can assure you it did happen. Which is where my outrage at that time came from. I felt at the time "people with very short memories". Or very young Arsenal fans.
And you don't have to be a yob to dislike a team or even a person.
If you punched a person for the simple reason of being disliked then the crime rate in this country would be a lot higher.
Liverpool - Delusions of grandeur along with massive feelings of self entitlement which makes for the worst of fans.
Man Utd - Fans were so used to success that they look utterly confused when things aren't going their way "Well, I wasn't that in to football anyway".
I really can't pick a third. It's close between QPR and Spurs.
Which is why I made the point of saying 'hating' - which is significantly stronger than 'dislike'.
And if you say it happened, that's good enough for me - sounds like the guy was a nobhead.
but my OP does say "dislike"...................so i can only assume/hope the comment is not aimed at me.
1. Chelsea, it was better when they played infront of 6 thousand and had cars parked around the pitch.
2. City, the fans made the transition from gallows humour to oil lottery winners far too easily.
3. Oxford, it seems that you are not allowed entry to the 3 sided stadium unless you've bought your coat/jacket from a low quality market stall.
But, my comment you replied too says 'hating'. It's in quotes and everything I was expanding the argument based on the apparent passion behind some of the more colourful expressions of 'dislike' - and saying I didn't think anyone actually (as in real life) 'hates' other clubs/fans - rather it's all a sort of pantomime.
All 3 would be Manchester Utd
if i had to pick a 2nd it would be Pool
mainly because of the media love in with both.
The "special Anfield atmosphere" and all of the decisions Utd have go over the years. Tippified by the Mendes goal. all throughout my time as a football fan they have been given a hell of alot of points by referees.
Utd are the only club i would not care at all if they folded.
it might make me sound bitter but do i give a long brown one? Nope!
i really dislike Utd

I'm sure there never used to be this great animosity from Chelsea fans towards Arsenal - I often get the impression the ones giving it out used to be Arsenal fans, or Spurs maybe. Either way, I really can't take it very seriously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I've always disliked arsenal, as has my 63 yeard old father. Dont know how old you are hengy but maybe you wasnt around during the dirty leeds era, arsenal were just as dirty. its in arsenals nature to have spite imo. See most recently the league cup final against chelsea. Arsenal starting a brawl, eboue blind sighting bridge and punching him, having 2 sent off, and fab etc getting involved. Also fabregas' swipe on ashley cole in the last few mintues of a game.

I agree
Nick,
Eboue didnt ounch Bridge it was a flick.
Bridge then turned around open mouthed made sure a linesman had seen it then threw himself to the ground.
Still the most disgraceful act I have ever seen from a Chelsea player, never forget the goal he got against Arsenal but he is coward, glad JT done his ex.
true, but i never used the term. Regardless of your point. My OP clearly says "dislike with a passion".
